COOK AN AUTHENTIC CEVICHE AND PERUVIAN PISCO SOUR !

TRIP ITINERARY:

9:45 am, 2:45 pm or 6:30 PM: We are going to meet in our meeting point at Calle Porta 170, Miraflores.

This is a Peruvian cooking class where you will learn how to cook these two delicacies that all Peruvians will die for: Ceviche & Pisco Sour!

And to finish the house recipe: The tastiest fish soup Peruvian style and original flavour" Be prepare to enjoy, taste and be happy , our chefs and team will make your day for sure unforgettable!

Ceviche: This class is for people who love traditional food and want to make it at home! You'll love the relaxed atmosphere with no dull demo's, because we believe in the hands-on approach. You will make an authentic Peruvian dish to tantalize your tastebuds and later enjoy your achievements.

Pisco Sour: One of the most popular cocktails in Peru is the Pisco Sour. It is based on the Pisco (kind of brandy) and the first creation was originated in Lima in the early 1920s.

Apart from the Pisco other main ingredients are lime juice, egg white and sugar syrup. Usually the cocktail is served in three sizes: Single, Double or "Catedral" (Cathedral). When prepared right the drink is a fine balance between the quite strong Pisco (alcohol percentage between 38% and 48%), the intense lime juice and the sweetness of the sugar syrup.

LOCAL MARKETS + FOOD HISTORY TOUR - (FOOD TOUR)

 2:00 PM: We are going to pick you up from your accommodation and with our expert local guide we'll take you to a fascinating tour, you will visit some of our authentic local markets in Lima city. At the same time, you will get immersed in the Peruvian culture trying local fruits, tapas, drinks, juices and the best of all interact with local people.

Local market in SURQUILLO: We will begin our adventure in this colorful and friendly local market in Surquillo District. Be ready to taste different kinds of exotics fruits, coming from different parts of the country like the coast, the rainforest, and the Andes. Of course, we won't abandon this local market without trying the most representative dish of Lima called "ceviche". But this time, you will have a unique version of ceviche called "ceviche with cushuro" (cushuro is a seaweed from the lakes and rivers located at high altitudes in the Andes it was considered a delicacy by our ancestors). Last but not least, we will taste a delicious "causa rellena" which is made with yellow smash potatoes and fill up with vegetables and shredded chicken.

Local Market in Surco: After tasting different samples of food in the earlier market now we arrive at Santiago de Surco Market, it was very well-known by locals and visitors since the colonial days till now. Its reputation is well known among people that have a great interest in rainforest food and fresh exotic fruit juices. so, this will be a good opportunity to try a delicious "Juanes de Pollo" or a "Chaufa de Cecina" typical dishes from the forest prepared with authentic and organic ingredients from the Amazon.

Get ready to have one of the most amazing experience, full of surprises, trying the flavors of Peru along the time and listening to the history behind the different dishes we try along the tour. 

Barranco: finally, we arrive at this bohemian cheerful and colorful neighborhood where we will visit one of the most popular restaurants and try the most typical dessert of lima "Picarones" made of sweet potatoes flour, anise seeds, squash, etc. don't forget to take a camera with you since the attractions are unique and wonderful.

PERUVIAN COOKING LESSONS + LOCAL MARKET TOUR & EXOTIC FRUIT TASTING PLUS MORE

8:30 AM or 1:30 PM: We will pick you up from your accommodation and with our expert chef and local tour guide will take you to one of our local markets which is located in the Surquillo district, where you will find a variety of native Peruvian products and best of all, you will interact with local people, we will buy the necessary ingredients to prepare the delicious dishes of your choice

Carefully and after a long work together with chefs, cooks, gourmets and local food lovers we choose 4 different great options to teach to cook then you have to choose among these tasty dishes:

 

Option 1:

FISH; the Peruvian dish we choose to cook with fish is: "Pescado a la Chorrillana" (Main Course), Fried onions, tomatoes, chili pepper and bay leaf, add fish broth and then a Fish fillet in low heat and its ready to eat, as starter we will cook together our Peruvian National dish called "Ceviche!" the most popular dish among Peruvians! It is about small pieces of raw fish marinated in fresh aromatic lime juice tender onions, boiled sweet potatoes mixed with or without Andean hot chilis

 

Option 2:

CHICKEN; for chicken we cook: "Aji de Pollo" in English chili chicken (Main Course but is not spicy), consists of thin strips of chicken served with a creamy yellow and spicy sauce, made with ají amarillo (non spicy yellow chilis), cheese, milk, crunchy bread. As starter, we will teach you to prepare the "Causa Limeña" Mashed organic yellow potatoes seasoned with lime and aji (hot pepper), and filled with fresh seasonal local veggies (it's a mild dish)

 

Option 3:

MEAT; our delicious "Lomo saltado" (Main Course), Beef tenderloin slices, sautéed with onions, tomatoes, aji (hot peppers but not spicy), and more spices. It is served with French fries and rice, for starter we have our super delicious "Papa Rellena" Little balls made of mashed potatos filled with either meat or vegetables or Quinua. Once it's close and fried, it is served with "salsa criolla "

This class is for people who love traditional food and want to do it at home! You will love the relaxed atmosphere without boring demonstrations because we believe in the practical approach. It will make an authentic Peruvian dish to seduce your palate and then enjoy your achievements.

For cooking, we use ceramic pots, just as our ancestors did (Inkas). In this way we will keep all the natural flavour.

Entry: Causa Limeña (Mashed yellow potatoes seasoned with lime and ají, and filled with Quinoa and avocado)

Main course: Lomo Saltado (Sautéed Tomatoes, Onions, Beef).

Drink: Chicha Morada (Our national drink)
