100 percent right wing fundamentalist christian propaganda. I have never seen a more aggressive fear based example of the american christian view point. In the film, they take a relatively peaceful (although controversial movement) and sandwich a caustic narrative between summaries of the Jim Jones cult and Hitlers Third Reich. Everything about this film is a mischaracterization of Osho and his movement. Dont waste the time or $$$ unless you want to see a very biased file... So here is a movie that cautions us about mind control and it uses misinformation, fear, manipulation and mind control in order to do it. Truly incredible. Where there is no doubt that, as in all organizations, there was corruption among the Rashneehis - corruption for which there is no excuse - the film goes further. It intercuts footage of Hitler and Jonestown and makes the soundbytes and footage nearly indistinguishable to make their point. Why is this? Because the filmmakers are themselves end times religious fanatics - rapture ready Evangelicals. This is clear if you visit their website. They are afraid of anyone moving in on what they do best, brainwashing people through fear. Evangelicals use fear of hell to torment children into submission. How painfully ironic that they would make this film. Osho was an important teacher and a flawed man. But he was not the person depicted in this film. As for Sheela, she really was that crazy. This is one of the few things the movie got right.

While there is some disturbing footage and no doubt factual information here - I just couldn't get beyond that the filmmakers behind this documentary have an evangelical agenda -- and I did not finish it. I know many documentarians have agendas, but for me, evangelicals are high up there when it comes to fear mongering and intellectual imperialism.

Too much negativity has been exaggerated. The author is bias on the basis of religion. Osho was a good mystic. His talks are very intersting and hypnotic. I can listen him the entire day and never get bored. His thinking and philosophy was ahead of time. He was a genius. Whatever has been shown in the book was done by Ma Sheela Anand and her coworkers.

Deeply disturbing documentary about a perverted and evil new age cult, apparently made by an Evangelical company, probably to make new agers look bad which the filmmakers did very well. Unreal footage caught on camera. This is not a film for the faint of heart, but well worth the watch for anyone interested in cults and is a must watch for fans of extreme horror films and shock cinema. I had no idea Osho's cult was this messed up, or that such a documentary existed about it, but I can say that I have never seen anything quite like it. Some Osho follower in denial may be offended by this review, but who cares?

Yes it was made in the 80s, but this film is the real unfiltered story of the rajneeshis and the cult leader who exploited people trying to find enlightenment. Wild Wild Country on Netflix does a disservice to the truth, almost making Sheela a hero at times. Bhagwan wasn’t a nice guy, he used, abused, spiritually misled, and exploited his followers.

Older film but excellent research and TRUTH. Those who don’t want to know the truth may be offended. No one is “picking” on anyone. The late Caryl Matriciana was an exceptional film maker

We see how Rajneesh combines an eerie charisma with scientific mind control techniques to make his disciples psychically dependent on him. For the guru, this web of control means a regal lifestyle (he had nearly a hundred Rolls-Royces at his disposal). While tension and paranoia simmered, Rajneesh's teachings offered the cynical consolation that, a bullet-ridden death can often accomplish what a life could not. The world has heard the Rajneesh credo at other times, other places, from other tyrants. Might is right, hisses the bearded Master to his half a million fanatical devotees, that rule still remainsthe rule of the jungle. FEAR IS THE MASTER is a stark and uncompromising warning, a shocking reminder that if we do not learn from history we will be condemned to repeat it.
