Ein ganz besonders knuffiges Töfftöff hat es leider nicht in den Händlerraum von „Bares für Rares“ geschafft. Schlussendlich wurde an ihm zu viel herumgebastelt.
Die italienische Firma Piaggio baut nicht nur die mit dem südeuropäischen Land untrennbar verbundene Vespa, sondern auch einen Kleintransporter namens Ape, der ebenfalls auf dem kultigen Zweirad basiert. Eines der hierzulande eher seltenen Exemplare gehört Lothar Jahns aus Anröchte, der gemeinsam mit seinem Sohn Marc zu „ Bares für Rares “ anreiste, um den Minitransporter zu Geld zu machen.
Mit dem Kauf der einsitzigen Ape erfüllte sich Italien-Liebhaber Lothar einst einen Kindheitstraum, nun sollte das 30 Jahre alte Gerät einer neueren Version weichen, in der auch Platz für den Sohnemann zu finden ist. Doch wie hoch würde die Expertise ausfallen? Experte Sven Deutschmanek zeigte sich zwar angetan, fand aber erste Fehler im Detail. So sei nicht mehr alles im Originalzustand und auch die gelbe Lackierung wiese einige Schwachstellen auf. Insgesamt war die Ape von Marc und Lothar Jahns zu verbaut, um mehr als 1.400 Euro zu erzielen. Da sich Vater und Sohn eigentlich 2.000 Euro vorstellten, war die Enttäuschung groß.
Unter ihrem Einkaufspreis von 1.700 Euro wollten die Besitzer ihren italienischen Freund nicht abgegeben, sodass Horst Lichter die Händlerkarte stecken ließ. Zwar hätte er auch ein Auge zudrücken können, da die Differenz zwischen Wunsch und Wirklichkeit nicht so gravierend war, dennoch konnte er sich nicht vorstellen, dass auch nur einer die Ape für mehr als ein paar Hundert Euro kaufen würde. Er hoffe, die beiden seien ihm nicht böse, aber bei „Bares für Rares“ war die Reise nun zu Ende. Marc und Lothar Jahns wollen es nun im Internet versuchen.

„Bares für Rares“ läuft werktags um 15:05 Uhr im ZDF, Wiederholungen strahlt der Ableger ZDF Neo um 8:50 Uhr und um 18:30 Uhr aus. Das Konzept hat sich bis heute nicht verändert. Menschen wie Marc und Lothar Jahns lassen ihre Exponate von Sachverständigen bewerten und feilschen dann im Händlerraum um den Preis.

Eine XXL-Rarität findet ihren Weg zur Trödelshow und würde eigentlich auch einen XXL-Preis bringen. Leider wies sie aber zu starke Mängel auf.
