Extreme Transformation 3 - Dolly gets to suffer!

Ohio teachers heroes. They aren't 'grooming' kids by acknowledging LGBTQ people |Opinion
As the Republicans in the Ohio legislature compete with Florida and Texas to be the most extremist state in the Union, children suffer.
The Ohio GOP’s latest attack on free speech, the “Don’t Say Gay” bill, criminalizes speech in schools about sexual orientation and gender identity which will have the effect of further marginalizing children and teachers who identify as LGBTQ or whose family members do.
This, along with the equally ambiguous bill which attacks speech about race and systemic inequality, undermines the teaching profession because no teacher will want to be sued over acknowledging a child’s two moms or teaching that the enslavement of Black people by white people was anything less than an abomination.
If the loud minority of politicians and parents feel so strongly that they understand how and what should be taught in schools, then I urge them to volunteer their time for a day in an urban public school classroom.
You would see for yourself what an incredibly challenging job teachers have and the brilliance, creativity, and professionalism with which they do it.
As a parent of Columbus public school children who also volunteers in the schools, I can tell you that you will see K-12 classrooms packed to the gills with too many children, many of whom are dealing with significant mental health issues from the trauma of the past 2 years or chronic stress from living in poverty.
In order to teach reading and math, teachers must first triage the most pressing issues of public safety and wear the hats of therapist, social worker, and nurse.
When teachers finally get home long after the 3:30 bell rings, they get to read in the newspaper that the zealots in the Statehouse are drumming up votes among their base with accusations that teachers are “grooming” students into being victims of pedophilia by acknowledging the existence of LGBTQ  people in our society, as well as making white children “feel bad” about their race.
Do we wonder why there is a shortage of teachers in America?
What you do each day is nothing less than heroic.
Please know how much you are valued by the vast majority of children and their parents. I also know that words of gratitude are not enough to help you sustain your own mental health in a job that gets more stressful by the day.
I hope that politicians will see clear of their next election cycle in order to exact the systemic changes that teachers need in order to get back to what they do best, which is educating children.
To Ohio Republican voters, your party has succeeded in marginalizing the voice of the opposition party through gerrymandering .
If you value democracy, only you can turn this tide of criminalizing free speech by calling your elected officials and voting for the more moderate members of your party.
The zealots of the GOP pay lip service to the atrocities in Ukraine , while in their next breath, they champion Putin’s authoritarian tactics in our own country by criminalizing free speech and marginalizing opposition. Is this the democracy you want? If not, you must speak up.

Tattoos are usually a symbol of rash youth - but it appears at the age of 65, Amanda Burton may be joining Dame Judi Dench and David Dimbleby, who decided to get inked later on in life.
The Silent Witness star was spotted leaving the Old Town Tattoo shop in Hastings earlier last month clutching a piece of paper, which could perhaps have been a design for an inking.
The actress looked in good spirits as she left the studio with much of her body covered up in a casual outfit, so as not to reveal where she she had her debut inking.
Good for you! Tattoos are usually a symbol of rash youth - but it appears at the age of 65, Amanda Burton may be joining Dame Judi Dench and David Dimbleby, who decided to get inked later on in life
Amanda donned a blue and white striped shirt beneath a casual navy jacket, which she teamed with brown cropped trousers and black shoes.
She swept her blonde locks up into a loose up do, while she highlighted her features with a light palette of make-up.
The TV personality seemingly had a busy day running errands around the south coast as she carried a shopping bag out of the tattoo parlour, which was later seen packed with groceries and flowers.
Amanda's tattoo follows in the footsteps of another actress who got inked in their later years, with Dame Judi Dench getting her first tattoo for her 81st birthday.

Her unconventional present was given to the star, now 87, in 2015 by daughter Finty, had the words ‘carpe diem’ inked onto her right wrist.
Other veteran TV stars with tattoos include Dame Helen Mirren, aged 76, who has been inked with interlocking Vs on her left hand.
While David Dimbleby, now 83, threw caution to the wind at the age of 75 in 2013 by having a scorpion inked onto his shoulder.

Elsewhere, Amanda recently reprised her role as Sam Ryder on the BBC series for its 25th anniversary, saying: 'It took me by surprise.'
The show, the longest-running crime drama currently airing anywhere in the world, promised a Covid-inspired storyline to a long-anticipated romance between Nikki Alexander (Emilia Fox) and Jack Hodgson (played by Northern Irish actor David Caves).
Burton made her debut as pathologist Sam Ryan in February 1996 - the year of Dolly the Sheep, the Spice Girls' debut and Diana and Charles were about to finalise their divorce - before leaving early in series eight in 2004.

Dynamic duo: Original Silent Witness star Amanda Burton (left) met her successor Emilia Fox (right) on screen when the hit series returned last month for its 25th series
Last month, she returned when her husband Jomo Mashaba (Hugh Quarshie) is shot dead and Dr Nikki is called to help solve the case.
Fans last saw the character - who appeared in 54 episodes - leaving to return home to Northern Ireland to be with her family.
Speaking on reprising her role, she said: 'I am so excited to be returning to Silent Witness and stepping back into Sam Ryan’s shoes – with a difference.
'Audiences can look forward to plenty of twists and turns as they discover what Sam’s been doing since leaving the Lyell.'
Emilia said: 'It is such a delight and thrill to be working with Amanda. To have Sam Ryan back again at the heart of the show is the greatest way of all to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Silent Witness.'

Dolly Parton was 'so shocked' to hear her close friend and country music peer Naomi Judd had passed away.
The Jolene hitmaker has paid a touching tribute to the late singer, who was the same age as Dolly, 76, when she passed away following a battle with her mental health last week.
Dolly says she and Naomi were 'very similar' and loved the same things, while the late star and her daughters, Ashley and Wynonna, have been like sisters to her.
The blonde beauty also said she 'will always love' Naomi.

In a statement on her Instagram page, the music legend began: 'I am so shocked to hear about Naomi's passing.'
She added, 'Naomi and I were close.' They go back to the 1970s.
Parton then said: 'We were very similar. We were the same age and both Capricorns. We loved big hair, makeup and music.

Such beauties: And here they are seen in the 80s; from left, Wynonna, Dolly and Naomi
'I have always loved Ashley, Wynonna and Naomi. They've always been like sisters to me.'
The 9 To 5 hitmaker went on to send her 'congratulations' to Wynonna and her parent after The Judds - the Grammy-winning mother-daughter duo they formed in the 80s - were inducted into the Country Music Hall of  Fame on Sunday.
That fell just one day after Naomi's death.
Love: 'We were very similar. We were the same age and both Capricorns. We loved big hair, makeup and music. 'I have always loved Ashley, Wynonna and Naomi. They've always been like sisters to me.' Ashley Judd (CL) accepts induction on behalf of Naomi Judd with Ricky Skaggs(L), inductee Wynonna Judd and CEO of the Country Music Hall of Fame
Dolly added, 'Congratulations Wynonna for you and your mom being inducted into the Hall of Fame yesterday.
'I am so sorry I couldn't be there but I can hear Naomi saying, "Oh well, a day late and a Dolly short. Congratulations and condolences are both in order."'
She concluded: 'Just know that I will always love you.'
Struggling to hold back the tears while accepting the honour on behalf of their mom in Nashville, Tennessee, Ashley said: 'I'm sorry that she couldn't hang on until today.'
Doll in 1974: The star was seen with her guitar when she was just starting out
Wynonna vowed: 'Though my heart is broken I will continue to sing.'
The Have Mercy singer's passing was confirmed by the siblings in a statement, which read: 'Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness.
The sisters did not elaborate on the exact cause of their mother's death but said they are 'navigating profound grief.'
They continued: 'We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory.'
Dolly changed her mind: The crooner said that she would want to join the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame
