His mother moved the family constantly and he never felt he really belonged anywhere and consumed by wanderlust even hitchhiked across the country with his brother as a teen. His father, a man of many vices who abandoned his family had never settled down.
"Purchased this guitar in a Saugus, CA pawn shop in 1988. I realized the larger neck of the classical would accommodate my thick fingers better than other guitars. I got a book from the library that showed chord diagrams and learned enough chords to be able to write some songs."
