Aristogenesis - Excerpts

Excerpts from Nobilitas by Dr. Alexander Jacob:

Nobilitas: A study of European Aristocratic Philosophy from Ancient Greece to the Early 20th Century

The conduct of a nation is one of the highest worldly duties of man, and those chosen for this task must necessarily be the ablest and worthiest of citizens.

For, as Jung's theory of the archetypes amply demonstrates, race, like language, is indeed one of the primary manifestations of the psyche and impresses different nations, just as it does different individuals, with varying degrees of spiritual energy and aptitude.'

Kingship and aristocracy have been shown throughout the history of the civilized world to be not only the most natural forms of government but also the most conducive to cultural progress. For it was in the lap of authoritarian rule that these high cultures first and last flourished.

The superiority of aristocratic government is due not only to its cultural advantage, but also to its solid philosophical foundation. The basis of centralised, enlightened autocracy is, indeed, so sound that no amount of desperate clamouring for popular government on the part of the benighted masses can alter the universal validity of these foundations.

The purpose of my brief study, which is devoted to the ideal political constitution of nations, is to survey the philosophical arguments for monarchical and aristocratic government from Greek antiquity to the early twentieth century.
