I used to be into Clubbing/DJing from 2001-2010. I still love the music but can't be arsed with the stress of a night out. For example, the last time i went out clubbing my ex girlfriends phone was stolen! Meh. Anyway i have 1,000's of mixes i recorded and its always nice to get a new/old mix for the commute to work.
Not showing off/showing off, I won a competition to DJ at the Ministry Of Sound in London back in 2007.... just saying!
Strange Stormy Situation Surrounds Stunning Saturday Seaside Serenity Sunset Scene (SOOC) - IMRAN™
What a strange time it is. It feels as if 2020, like a mean, dangerous, psychotic, fatal attraction addicted ex-girlfriend, just won't let go of us to move into a better future. But, as I captured this SOOC (straight out of camera) unedited Nikon D300 photo of tonight's sunset at my blessed home on Tampa Bay, Florida, I thought to myself what a strange situation surrounds this stunning Saturday seaside serenity sunset scene.
Despite a red-hot sunset, a cold wind, seemingly coming from all sides in strong bursts but without notable gusts, invisibly symbolizes the national and global threats buffeting us in this new year, and new decade.
A global Coronavirus pandemic, now with a dangerous mutation, is still wreaking havoc, ... but vaccines are offering some hope. A cancer of wilful ignorance and cult-like embrace of fascist forces continues to threaten our democracy, ... but even a few (until-recently fascism-embracing tyrant-loving) politicians acting like they are finding their consciences is giving hope to a return to normalcy.
An actual insurrection against the government of the United States, incited by none other than the actual current occupant of the Oval Office, leading to Confederate & Nazi flags and symbols being proudly displayed inside the US Capitol for the first time in history shook the patriotic majority of the nation, ... but there is hope that it may have woken up enough sell-out members of his own party to realize they have to stand up to Drumpf. An actual agent of an enemy state and criminal President is talking about pardoning himself, his family, and others whom he clearly directed to commit crimes... but even Republicans are now asking for his removal from office, and wanting a return to the rule of law, from the streets to the highest office in the land.
All these cures are better late than never, ... but what a tragic waste of so much. Lives, jobs, civility, decency, stability, and unity, ... all losses caused by the acts foisted on us by corrupt, incompetent, undemocratic forces of a traitor in power in 2020.
The truth is simple. Facts are facts, no matter what conspiracy theory undereducated cultists embrace or what white-lies purely opportunistic sleazy politicians spread. Science is science, no matter how much some idiots believe the earth is flat, or that they would get injected with a microchip in an anti-viral vaccine.
It is time to make 2021 the start of the best years of our lives, as people, as nations, and as humankind. Join me as I bow my head in prayer at this sunset time for us all to be healed and at peace again.

I could not resist uploading one more photo from Garibaldi Park, made from a small plane during a flyover one beautiful winter morning in January. You can clearly see the ancient lava flow that dammed an outflow creek and created Garibaldi Lake (seen in the upper right of the view from Black Tusk posted two days ago). In the distance, the great valley through which winds Highway 99 from Vancouver to Whistler.
The pilot was my ex-girlfriend's brother-in-law, 21. I was 28 at the time and invulnerable. No fear; I was awestruck. For those of you who know the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, we met at the airport in Abbotsford, flew to Vancouver, circled the city, buzzed Stanley Park, and then continued up Howe Sound to Garibaldi. A spectacular day. I think we were in the air less than two hours. It gave me a very different sense of the place that by then I thought I knew.

This is one reason for me being so quiet lately. My ex-girlfriend picked up her stereo a couple of weeks back, and on a short notice. So i had to call up my dad and ask him if i could refurbish his old stereo system. I have done so with passion for the past two weeks.
This here is the turntable, and more accurately it's tonearm. Those tiny wires running through the green plate were originally broken. Wasnt a simple task to solder the new ones into place. Also the green on the plate is some new paint.

My dad's ex-girlfriend refused to leave his house until I gave back her giant fork and spoon, so Hannah and I had a very impromptu shoot. I pretty much stuffed my car with everything I own.

I went back to Borgholm with my ex girlfriend this previous summer, and I got this shot of her as she was trying to have a smoke while shelterd against the wind. Yeah, it was terribly windy; I'm not even sure how she could keep the hat on. Either way, she was apparantly happy about it...
Life May Be No Picnic But Stunning Sunset At Picnic Island Park Is A Treat - IMRAN™
To give you an idea of how many wonderful past experiences I still have to share with you all, this was a Valentine's Day week sunset in 2014.
A then, and now thankfully very ex, girlfriend was with me. We had been exploring Tampa and nearby areas. We got to this lovely place just before sunset.
There was no one else there so we sure did get to enjoy the total privacy it offered. Well, except for the voyeur seagulls who joined us in flocking on the seashore. Before we left I was able to capture several photos of the sunset and the beach.
These were taken with the iPhone 4S, which was one of the better iPhone models. I still have mine, six years later. Obviously the cell phone camera cannot truly capture direct sun photos which even fancy DSLR cameras would struggle with. But I was able to recover enough detail from it to create this panorama a few years ago.
I got to finally write and post this story today, in late August 2020. Enjoy the full 360° view left to right and top to bottom. Share with friends and family who could use a sunset walk on the beach no matter where they are.

I dated a girl named skye with perfect natural redhair. Every time i go through the neighborhood taking a walk, i look up to the sky and i think about her since her name is the same minus an e. I miss her a lot. She was very special. This piece is months after we broke up, but i finally knew what i wanted to do. I am proud of how it turned out and it really describes how i feel anytime i ever look up to the sky now that i lost "my skye" to a breakup. i am emotionally numb, but she made me feel a lot. the way i processed the end was different since i dont get to feel extreme pain. but i do miss her every day. This piece of art is one of the last things i have done to try to move on.

Seattle, Elliott Bay / Puget Sound Waterfront (November, 2015)
Tonight i'm reeling from the loss of one of my favorite places in all of Seattle.
This shot was taken the very first day i began DSLR photography in November 2015, within a few hours of unboxing my Nikon D3300 in a Starbucks on 4th and Seneca, charging the battery a bit and then taking the first shots with it.
I intentionally set out to photograph sunset that first day with my camera at this specific location, a place i've known since i first moved to Seattle in 1994. I was homeless and i had just spent a year shooting with a small Canon point and shoot camera and was beyond excited to begin my DSLR journey which continues to this day with just as much passion now 5 years later.
I've spent more hours on this pier than i can possibly count. I've been there on happy days with ex-girlfriends over the decades, ex-boyfriends over the decades and just friends alike. I've gone there when i was sad, needed time to myself and also when happy as can be just wanting to enjoy the view.
It had been deteriorating and recently it was closed to the public. As workers began the dismantling of this favorite place which already made me very sad, it partially collapsed. Luckily no one was killed but it was a major event that happened here in Seattle this past week.
I'm posting this tonight to say goodbye to my favorite pier. Hopefully the next place they build i like just as much. I understand things change and to be honest, this pier lasted longer than any of my ex's in my life so i have to give it credit where credit is due.
So long old friend, thanks for all the amazing memories over the last 25 years.

But I figured it's a good time to introduce the cast and such.
most everyone already knows I'm shaggy. I had a last minute Velma change and my sister was nice enough to fill in for me! Yes my sister is walking again, and if you look at the first pic you can see she's giving her new hardware a workout. She has 3 screws in the neck of her femur.
Scooby is played by Scooby :) my stuffed animal.
Daphne is played by my Ex-girlfriend. We're still good friends and lastly Fred is Daphne's brother. which is why they kind of share a face. haha They're actually Fraternal twins!

I process my photos listening to a variety of music. Tonight it was 70's R&B songs about love going bad. As I processed this photo I listened to the discount-symphonics of "Oh Girl" by the Chi-Lites. C'mon, you know the song:
"Oh girl I'd be in trouble if you left me now
Oh girl pain would double if you left me now
I don't know where to look for love and I don't know how."
It's the song that plays on the Sopranos when Tony beats Zellman with his belt when he finds out Zellman's been seeing Tony's ex-girlfriend, the young Irina. That whole episode is about growing up, selling out and the fuzzy boundary between love and territorial aggression. And that was kind of my day: feeling more serious about my job than ever, feeling old, feeling increasingly dependent on a brainy, big-hipped girl six years my junior.
But what does that have to do with the picture? Just that bad art (schmaltzy singers) can deliver painful and powerful truth at least as well as good art.
My ex girlfriend stopped the car so I could get some pastoral sunset shots at the familiar Rya location. Turns out, the car itself created a composition for me.
She's Lydia! She's the little sister of Jake, girlfriend of Nathan, and the ex girlfriend of Kiba. She isn't vampire like her brother.
Lydia is a stylist, but it's been a difficult time in recent weeks.

My 22 year old self & ex. girlfriend back in May 2011, in Turkey.
Some months ago a friend of mine said that I resemble an ex girlfriend of his (she is a genetic woman) and that he would send me a photo.
Well I have been trying without much luck to find a dress like hers so as I could replicate the photo to see how I compare to a real woman.
The bottom two are yours truly wearing two different leopard print dresses and the top one is the nameless real woman.
So what do think? do I look her or does she sadly look like me ?
Do I compare with the real deal or should I return to the closet? .
I think we do look alike. Poor girl I feel sorry for her.
Dipping deep into the archives today for this one. In early January, 42 years ago, I was hanging out with my ex-girlfriend in Vancouver when the phone rang early one morning. It was her brother-in-law: "Want to go for a plane ride?" He was 21 and had just gotten his pilot's license. We said, "Sure!" and met him at the small airport in Abbotsford.
There were four of us in the Cessna 172, and Chris turned out to be a good pilot. We coasted over downtown Vancouver and then turned north, over the spectacular Coast Mountains near Whistler. I made this shot as we banked over Garibaldi Lake, with the massive Mount Garibaldi - a dormant volcano, part of the Pacific Ring of Fire, looming just out of the frame, to the right.
It was incredible, seeing this country from the air, especially in winter. I'd backpacked into this place a few times and knew it from the ground: sun-splashed, flower-dotted alpine meadows and views of mountains, lakes, and glaciers. Quite a different view from 10,000 feet, with a blanket of fresh snow.
