Semyon is a reclusive 25-year-old living in a large city somewhere in early 21st century Russia, spending most of his time in his flat interacting with others on his computer and earning enough to keep the bills paid.
One winter day he boards a bus to attend a reunion, falls asleep along the way, and awakens to find it's now summer and he's dropped off at the front gates of a place called Sovionok (Совёнок, "owlet" in Russian).
Semyon soon discovers it is a Pioneer Camp populated by youth, including several attractive girls who show interest in him; furthermore, he has reverted to his 18-year-old self and it is now the mid-1980s.
In the days that follow, Semyon must navigate the relationships and possibly find love with the various people he encounters, while trying to solve the mystery of how and why he was brought to this place,
and how to escape and return to his former life once it becomes evident he may be trapped in a time loop.
The game uses texts and sprites in a manner similar to many Japanese visual novels and runs on the Ren'Py visual novel engine. At various points the player must make choices which will affect dialogue and determine what path the game will take. The game has multiple endings, some of them portraying Semyon forming a romantic relationship with one of the female characters, while others end badly. Some of the endings are not available until they are unlocked by completing other endings.

Today I have a review of a game that looks very strange at first glance because it combines something that would never be combined in real life, namely Japanese schoolgirls and Soviet Russia. How and why is unclear, but it sounds interesting, right?
In general, the game is called Everlasting Summer. It is a dating simulator that reflects the culture of Soviet Russia mixed with hentai babes and nude scenes. Now it sounds not only interesting but also hot.
The game begins with the fact that your character is going to a high school reunion, but instead of a restaurant, he finds himself in some kind of camp where Japanese schoolgirls live. Every girl has her character. I liked Alice the most-she is a rebel. Lena seemed to me too quiet, and Slavya is too similar to other Japanese schoolgirls. You have to choose one with whom you will build a relationship. If it does not go with her, then you can choose another one, but at the same time, you will not be able to seduce two heroines or more. Of course, you can try, but, most likely, you will end up alone.
You can find a lot of good reviews on EverlastingSummer. Everyone says that the game caused them certain feelings: it pulled someone out of the world of suicidal thoughts and drove someone into melancholy and depression. I do not know what you will experience, but Everlasting Summer is not the game that will leave you indifferent.It has a 10/10 rating on Steam. That’s not for nothing, you know.
Now it’s the time to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of this game. Like most users, I was delighted with Everlasting Summer. First of all, I liked the graphics. If you think that you have seen the sexiest Japanese schoolgirls and h-scenes in some game, then I advise you to download Everlasting Summer. You will change your mind.
Secondly, I was impressed by the different characters given to the heroines. These are not just bitches that you are trying to fuck, but full-fledged characters that you eventually begin to treat as your friends. You become attached to the virtual girls because of the text that is written by a real person. Your brain will explode from how cool it is.
I also liked the fact that there are two versions of the game in Everlasting Summer – with and without eroticism. Initially, the game feels like a PG-13 movie, because there is no nudity at all, but you can add a 300kb file to the game folder to unlock a lot of h-scenes that are in the game but are hidden from young schoolchildren. It turns out that PG-13 is also suitable for those who are interested in relationships but are not interested in masturbation, and vice versa.
Of course, I added this file to the game, and I was completely delighted with the art and the quality of naked chicks that you can see in photos in dialogues or video clips. The style is very similar to the classic hentai, but there is something special that does not let you take your eyes off the girls.
I will say this briefly about the disadvantages: there are none in Everlasting Summer. I was completely satisfied with the game. It brought about different emotions, gives interesting dialogues and the opportunity to masturbate to hot hentai beauties.

the patch is also on VKontatke, but i think the reason why steam censored the game was to avoid a mass influx of nudity filled screenshots, so in a way i can understand that
Meh, CGs are not very good, and Hentai doesn't add anything to the plot either

It's smart of them to do so. Too easy to create bad press otherwise. Hey, it only increases the replay value if you play it through without noticing the easter egg. Plus, this is Soviet Games; you would expect them to (possibly) harm someone who wasn't decensitized to such visuals and wasn't expecting it? A pioneer always considers the situation of others!
Steam has a fair number of customers who are or who have kids/teens. Some people in the U.S. are just THIS far from the Saudi or Iranian mindset about skin that it's a lot safer to demand that publishers strip nudity/"adult" seenes out of the games before releasing them on Steam. There's counties in the state of Utah where teen girls can't wear dresses to dances that bare their shoulders. Then there's the Deep South. Bigger game publishers have a bit more "weight" or pull with Steam/Valve and get to release things as they would through any other channel. Think Ubisoft, EA and their ilk. Steam still wants to get their cut of said companies' sales, rather than lose it all to Origin, Desura, GOG or some other competitor. If a mainstream game (whatever the content) isn't sold on Steam or is sold in a reduced form here, that becomes a problem for Steam and the publisher, so it doesn't happen. With indie games, the risk vs reward caluclation favors censorship without being TOO strict about allowing gamers with the know-how to uncensor their affected games. If they REALLY cared about there being bewbs in your game, they'd check the content/stuff running of installed VN games the way they do with multi-player games.
With the game being free and all, it makes it incredibly easy for a child to download it. I don't care what anyone's culture thinks about nudity. Morally, it is wrong for children to be exposed to it. I am not trying to debate, nor do I intend to. Morals are a code of ethics, not only religious fodder. I agree that censorship is wrong, but there is a delicate balance on that issue once you include people other than yourself as the one being censored against. Child gamers are pretty abundant, and in this age of technology, it is becoming harder and harder to shelter them from things that their minds are not developementally ready to grasp. Doing so generally causes disillusions and in many cases, mental health issues, as they grow older. If I had seen this topic 15 or 20 years ago, I would be completely supportive of many of the complaints posted here. But as I have approached mid-life, and watched children grow myself, from an adult perspective, most of my former attitudes and opinions on many things in this world have changed. I haven't even played this game yet, or anything like it before--I only downloaded it because it was free and looked like something new and different for me to try. Hell, I might even download this nudity patch; or not. It is pretty irrelevant to the point I am trying to convey. I commend Valve for having this, and other free/cheap games like it, regulated--I certainly don't condemn them for censorship of all things. Have some kids of your own and you'll start to understand where I am coming from. If not, you are a terrible parent and shouldn't have any more kids Seriously tho.. when we were young, even up through our twenties, most of us resented being censored, being sheltered, whatever.. some of us outgrow this, and end up saying and thinking things that we swore, as children and teens, that "we would NEVER do.. adults suck! Damn hypocrites!" Then you become an adult, and you have your own children, and you'll be saying such things you swore off without even meaning to.. stuff like "because I said so" sounds like a cop-out to a teenager, an easy way to force an argument to an end.. so unfair, right? Later in life, you will realize that your parents said and did all of those "unfair" things with only your greater interest in heart. I feel the same way on violent games as I do about things that are sexual in nature. Who is to say that a child exposed to violent or sexual content doesn't incedentally unlock a personality trait that would have otherwise remained dormant, and faded out, as their mind developed naturally. I'll end this with one of those things I said I would never say as a teenager.."Just because I do it, that doesn't mean everyone else can". Sorry for being so long-winded, and I mean no one any offense--I'm merely suggesting some things for those who are angry about this whole censorship thing to consider.
