"I was trembling when it finished," she said. "I was crying my eyes out."
"I fought very hard to have that scene be under my control. And I failed to control it again," Lilly said.
After filming that scene, she said she told writers and producers, "'You can write whatever you want — I won’t do it. I will never take my clothes off on this show again.’ And I didn’t.”
"I felt like my character went from being autonomous, really having her own story and her own journey and her own agendas, to chasing men around the island. And that irritated the shit out of me,” the actor said. “I did throw scripts across rooms when I read them because I would get very frustrated by the diminishing amount of her own story that there was to play.”
"Our response to Evie’s comments this morning in the media was to immediately reach out to her to profoundly apologize for the experience she detailed while working on Lost ," they said. "We have not yet connected with her, but remain deeply and sincerely sorry. No person should ever feel unsafe at work. Period."

Evangeline Lilly spent six seasons playing Kate Austen on the popular ABC drama series “ Lost ,” but it turns out she wasn’t comfortable with every moment behind the scenes. During a recent appearance on “The Lost Boys” podcast (via Entertainment Weekly ), the actress revealed she was pressured into performing a partial nude scene during season three, a moment that left her extremely upset.
“In season three, I’d had a bad experience on set with being basically cornered into doing a scene partially naked, and I felt had no choice in the matter,” Lilly said. “And I was mortified and I was trembling when it finished. I was crying my eyes out and I had to go on do a very formidable, very strong scene thereafter.”
Lilly said the season three incident was not an isolated moment. During production on season four, the actress said a scene came up where her character was undressing. Lilly “fought very hard” to have the moment be under her control, but she said she failed to have the upper hand.
“So I then said, ‘That’s it, no more. You can write whatever you want — I won’t do it. I will never take my clothes off on this show again,’” Lilly said. “And I didn’t.”
Lilly said her experiences on “Lost” prepared her for the future and she has since declined to take on roles where there are nude scenes in the script.
“It’s not because I think there’s anything wrong with doing nudity, It’s because I don’t trust that I can be comfortable and safe,” Lilly said. “I’m lucky, I’m in a privileged position because I can be picky. I feel for women who are struggling to come up in the industry and don’t know how to navigate that…When it comes to women being vulnerable on set when it comes to their nudity though, I haven’t been in the position to know if that has changed or not.”
Lilly most recently starred in the Marvel tentpole “Ant-Man and the Wasp” and is expected to appear in next summer’s untitled “Avengers” sequel.

for what the actress says.
Without any scrutiny.
We don’t get any information what kind of scene
she talks about and how that scene ended up
on TV screens. We don’t know what the reasoning
of the writer was. Maybe her “partial nudity” was
justified through the story ? What does “partial
nudity” even mean ? What does “cornered” mean
in this case ?
Of course it’s not nice if you have situations like
this, but we shouldn’t ignore that nudity can
be vital for a scene to work. Do we really need to
protect American prudishness all the time ?
Yesterday I saw Patrice Chéreau’s “Intimacy”
again and was stunned by the performances.
I can’t even describe here what Kerry Fox and
Mark Rylance do in that movie, because this
comment will get deleted. Such a movie would
never get made in the US…
DRU: She must mean the cage love scene when Kate and Sawyer finally get together. He removes her shirt, and then in the aftermath she appears only to have his shirt draped over her.
I’m sorry to learn that it was so uncomfortable for her; it was a beautiful scene.
There was no nudity on the show. This is ridiculous.
