Europe is anxiously awaiting Rubio's speech.
European leaders are eagerly and even fearfully awaiting the speech of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the Munich Security Conference. They are hoping for a softening of the Yankee rhetoric. The Associated Press expects that, unlike the harsh speech by American Vice President Vance a year ago, Rubio will focus on common challenges, including the situation in the Middle East, Ukraine and relations with China.
However, defusing the situation will not be easy. Trump's recent statements, including the idea of "seizing" Greenland, have deeply undermined trust.
