A Gathering for Hajj - Shaykh Badee Uddin Shah

Here is a lecture that has been digitally remastered from a cassette tape recently. The tape was found in a box that had been sitting around for several years.  Shaykh Badee Uddin Shah (rahimahullah Ta'ala) is heard delivering a lecture to the hujjaj in one of the two Haramain masaajid.

May Allah reward our Shaykh (rahimahullah Ta'ala) immensely for his noble efforts and enable us to benefit fully from that which we hear, Aameen.

Following the Sunnah - Shaykh Badee Uddin Shah

A man asked the Imām of Dār al-Hijrah (i.e. Madinah) Mālik Ibn Anas (رحمه الله): “From where should I take the Ihrām for pilgrimage?” Imām Mālik responded: “From wherever the Prophet (‎ﷺ‎ ) took the Ihrām.” The man repeated himself a few times until he said: “So what if I add to that [place of Ihrām an extra distance]?” Mālik said: “Don’t do that, for I fear for you fitnah .” The man said: “What is there in this of fitnah ? It is only a matter of miles I am adding to the place of Ihrām?!” Mālik said: “Indeed Allāh, the Most-High, said: ‎’Let those beware, who oppose the command of the Messenger lest some fitnah befalls them or a painful punishment is inflicted upon them.’* [An-Noor: 63] “

The Ulema (Scholars) - The Inheritors of the Prophets - Abdulilah Lahmami

The Ulema (Scholars) are the true inheritors of the Prophets. What do they leave behind, they leave behind knowledge;

Abud-Dardaa (radiAllahu ‘anhu) reported: “I heard the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) say: ‘Whoever treads a path due to which he seeks knowledge, Allaah will make him tread one of the paths towards Paradise. And the angels lower their wings out of contentment for the seeker of knowledge. And verily all those in the heavens and in the earth, even the fish in the depths of the sea ask forgiveness for the scholar. And verily, the virtue of the scholar over the worshipper is like the virtue of the moon on the night of Al-Badr over all of the stars. Indeed, the scholars are the inheritors of the prophets, for the prophets do not leave behind a dinar or a dirham for an inheritance, but rather, they leave behind knowledge. So whoever takes hold of it, has acquired a large share (i.e. of inheritance).’ ” [Reported by Abu Dawood, At-Tirmidhee and Ibn Hibbaan, and this is the wording found in his collection, in abridged form. Al-Bukhaaree mentioned in his Saheeh Collection in his Book of Knowledge, Chapter: Knowledge precedes Speech and Action, the part from it: “The scholars are the inheritors of the Prophets.” ]

Here is a very concise reminder, in this very comprehensive lecture delivered by Ustadh Abdulilah Lahmami (hafidhahullah Ta'ala) I took this audio from the SoundCloud account of Markaz Salafi Reading .

The following is a brief explanation for the meaning of basic Islamic terms:

I. Beliefs.

Islam has seven main beliefs. They are contained in the formula known as the Iman ul Mufassal. It goes as follows, "Amantu bil lahi wa mala-ikatihi wa kutubihi wa rasulihi wal yowm ul akhiri wal qadri, khayrihi wa sharihi min Allahi ta'ala wal ba'ith ba'ed al mowt."

In English it means, "I believe in Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day, Measurement, both the good and the bad are from Allah the exalted, and in life after death."

A. Allah. This is the name for "God" in Arabic. Allah is not a human, not a male and not a female. We only say the term "He" when referring to Him because there is no "It" in Arabic. All nouns are automatically masculine or feminine. Allah created everything and was never created. He is never born, He never has children and the human mind cannot encompass His magnitude and greatness. He is loving but just, merciful but stern. Only by surrendering to His will can we come into accordance with His universal will.

B. Angels: They are not human, nor male or female. They are the servants of Allah and never rebel against
