It’s my favorite cologne and I’ve been wearing it for years. Not too flowery, and doesn’t smell like alcohol. Well balanced. Pricey, but worth the money.
This perfume has been discontinued for quite a while and I was thrilled to find it. I haven't used perfume for years because I had a singer in the family (potential allergies) but she has started life on her own and I have that wonderful luxury again! Packaging was just as I remember and I'll enjoy this scent as long as I can find it.
It smell almost identical to the original Private Collection original perfume by Estee Lauder. But this is not an original, is a really good copy. So for a copy, is too expensive. But as a substitute is really good. I still have some of the original one, and there is a slight difference in the scent, and a big variation in the product quality scent to last longer. Overall good.
Private Collection was my signature scent throughout the 1980s. I got away from scent, if one may say it this way, for about twenty-five years, but recently, I have experienced a Renaissance in my love for scent, and one of the first I ordered from Amazon Prime was Private Collection. Private Collection is one of the most delicious, enticing, voluptuous, sexy, and strong (think character not smell) scents that I have ever smelt. Unfortunately, the bottle I ordered was not delivered on time, and due to a holiday weekend, it sat for nearly an extra week inside a UPS truck in blisteringly hot and humid weather. Heat, light, and humidity are scents' worst enemies, and my bottle of Private Collection and Miss Dior suffered accordingly. I blame UPS for this, not Amazon. However, there was enough sillage left over in my bottle to recall to me this wonderful, wonderful, wonderful scent, and I will not shy away from ordering it again! I cannot wear most Estee Lauder scents (they literally make me ill), but this is definitely the exception! Wearing it to bed tonight and am sure to have very sweet dreams indeed!
I liked the fact that I found this product was still around after all these years. I first started using Estee Lauder products when I was a college student (1975) working at a department store that sold Estee Lauder (I was able to get samples !!!). Private Collection is my favorite! the product is for personal use and THE FRAGENCE IS STILL WONDERFUL !
I have used this product for over 30 years. I retired 10 years ago. Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to continue using this scent. Private Collection by Estee Lauder has a fresh, cool relaxing scent that makes me feel wonderful when I wear it. With the right campaign the scent could make a comeback because It has youthfulness to it. I couldn’t find it in any of the high in stores that use to sell it. Dillards, Belks, or Penny’s. This product does not need my words. A recognized treasure of a scent! and a bit o bit of it to enjoy is MINE! It's for grownups - I did not want it till I was 30, and then it was just so right! Thank you Estee Lauder for keeping its beauty alive and available.
It has close to the same scent, but does not last like the original!

Classic elegance....

- this is real confidence in a bottle, IMHO! 'Private Collection'; the signature fragrance - originally designed for Estée Lauder and eventually marketed in the early 1970s, presumably when someone noticed just what a BIG HIT this was! Those were the days when you could also buy a useful handbag size and, often, a boxed set with body lotion. 'Private Collection' is one of those long lasting, exotic scents, which really does turns heads and is terribly hard to describe so I will leave it to the product description above to attempt to do that. I have been buying this scent for a family member for years and this is currently at the best price I have seen, including duty free. Lots of people, mainly men, have stopped her over the years to ask what it is as they recall a moment in time as the scent glides by. The bottle stands around 13 cm high, of which 5.5 cm is the gold coloured top with 'Estée Lauder' script. With the lid off, the bottle is elegantly 'stepped' with an overall height of 12.5 cm including the spray with the bulk being the bottom 7.5 cm which measures around 3.5 cm wide x 2.5 cm deep. There is nice ridging to the sides of the bottle, which is replicated on the sides and top of the lid. From the base label: * Estée Lauder Eau De Private Collection Spray * 50 ml * 80% Vol Beautifully boxed, the spray is getting harder to find and often there is 'only one in stock' (allegedly) at the EL counter in the upmarket department stores and a well known High Street chemist! BUT....beware......I was horrified to learn that there is a new 'Private Collection' on the block but I was/am assured that it is NEVER, EVER, EVER going to replace the original! New and lighter fragrances have been developed, presumably to appeal to a new generation, but there is NO competition, in my opinion. If buying as a gift, however, it is now essential to know which one that special lady in your life is looking for!

I have been using this perfume for 40 years. It's almost impossible to find. It is the only perfume I wear. I received my perfume today and it made me so happy. I immediately ordered another one. I appreciate the fast shipping too. Joyce
Best fragrance ever by Estee Lauder. Unfortunately I didn't get to use it more than about twice as the staff (TSA) at Fort Lauderdale airport stole it out of my luggage .
I don’t understand why they discontinued something that people loved. 🙁
I love this stuff.. I thought it was discontinued but I found it on Amazon, and ordered it right away! It smells so pretty, but only wear a little bit.. it lasts all day.
