I'm sure everyone knows this, but the blog is obviously NSFW* Download for fullview. Okay. The new character is finally done. Well, I'll most likely still have to tune her as I start making more stuff with her, so I guess she'll never really be done. She doesn't really have a name, other than a project name "Ada". I'll just call her that unless someone wants to give her a better name. No story/background thought up either. I'm not much of a character designer to be honest, but maybe I'll form up something at some point. The rig is decently flexible, so I can get multiple looks out of her if I need more characters. The male rig is actually done by just slightly modifying the female rig. It was less than a days work to do him from her, as an example. The thing that will require most work when doing a new character out of her, will be doing decent looking hair styles. This was made from scratch, modelling, texturing, skinning etc. everything by me. With the exception of using the "Advanced skeleton" script for making the base skeleton rig for the spine & limbs. Which I'm regretting slightly using. While it's a pretty handy tool, it didn't quite fit with my workflow, and I think I spent more time due to using it instead of making the rig from scratch. But then again now that I've done it once with it, I shouldn't have any trouble integrating it if I ever want to use it again. To be honest the whole rigging process was a big mess, and I had a lot of technical problems along the way, but everything's working pretty much as I want right now. I just want to clarify that I don't think Advanced skeleton is a bad tool. I though it was great, but I used it a bit unwisely as a quick fix for doing some other stupid stuff earlier with another autorig system. I also didn't try the facial rigging tools or skinning tools Advanced skeleton has, as I had done those myself before generating the base skeleton with it. So I can't really comment on those. As for the base skeleton rig that it creates, it's a good basic rig with IK/FK switches. Also as a nice addition it has anti pop attributes for elbows & knees. Definitely the best free quick rig script out there. Modelling, rigging, rendering done in: Maya Post: After Effects Textures: Zbrush Base skeleton rig generated with Advanced Skeleton (spine, arms, legs) with only small modifications, like adding extra joints to help with skinning and such. Everything else done by me. I don't know when exactly I'll have a new animation done. So I won't promise anything on that, but I'll post a small walk loop here that I did to mainly test out the physics on her.

Eskoz @EskozGTS · Aug 8, 2021 I've been limiting myself to a moderate 1 minute per month pace since I started animating this, in the hopes that I won't run out of steam, as I was feeling pretty burned out after DimiCh2Pt1.
