I was born in South Jamaica lived in South Jamica till I was 7 and moved on up to Jamaica Estates and pretty much have lived there since. I’m conflicted in that hearing others berating Jamaica is comparable to someone insulting your unattractive wife. Only YOU can insult your wife. Jamaica for me is essential. It’s a place I can call a ghetto, mock, degrade, point at, drive through and laugh at. However, there are some upsides to this shithole, should one choose you have the option to take the LIRR out to Montauk or the Hamptons or be in mid-town Manhattan in 35min.
