While this area would regularly be quite conservative as Indiana is covered in cornfields (and many residential areas have remained fairly conservative communities), the existence of Indiana University in the middle of downtown makes for an incredibly liberal community. Also because of this, Bloomington is the LGBTQIA+ hub of Indiana. Nightlife in Bloomington is almost nonexistent--as is evident by the lack of clubs. Additionally, do not be fooled by the amount of parks in Bloomington, the majority have been overtaken by the homeless population. However, there are several trails on the outskirts of the city which are safer and surrounded by incredibly beautiful forests and vegetation.

Bloomington is a college town situated in south-central Indiana. This comes with many different characteristics. For one, this is a mid-size city of about 85,000 plus 50,000 students, meaning that for most of the year, the city limits swells to about 135,000 people. This means it gets more crowded, but the opportunities offered by Indiana University are boundless. IU offers thousands of jobs and countless educational opportunities for the population. Aside from the student population, the city is generally quiet, especially on the outskirts. Surrounding the city exists three lakes, and several nature and recreational parks. The school system benefits from having such a large university nearby and the local pharmaceutical manufacturing companies donate millions to city schools. The cost of living, however, is higher than the average for the area.

Thanks to shalom center and life designs spending 15 million dollars of our money to build Crawford apartments for the homeless. Your enabling attitude and brainwashing people around here to think people who think you create homelessness by not letting people hit rock bottom are evil, is ruining this neighborhood. Needles on the ground, rampant theft and harassment a 1 minute walk from the high school. Great job genius! Iβm sure you think you help, but you are an enabler!
