Radar detector would go through it start up inspection/checkup but not doing it now only seems to pickup X,K,KA not the other bands or Lazer. Trying to reach someone unable at this time will keep trying.

The mount set up is wrong on a few levels... my phone has a camera installed IN IT.. I am happy with this large thief bait, but it is a pain to mount and take down because eventually plugging and unplugging the unit to go to from car to truck will fail. it falls away from camera when dismounted and power cord hangs. I have used another Escort and it died recently... Loved it response and coverage and I am sure this unit will do the same. UPDATE: It has been about 1 week.. finally got the detector and camera to fit and stay. I am a little worried, my old Escort 9500ix used to pick up KA (sheriff and CHP) regularly, but this upgrade has warned ONCE so far.. in a week! The face is nice to look at, but I would really like to know if it is picking up a signal. I disabled X and most of the KA comes not checked... so I checked them all.. if no signal for another week I will call tech support and maybe return and save a few hundred and by another 9500ix which worked flawlessly for years till 110+ dashboard heat finally killed it (at least that is what I think happened).

I'm very disappointed that such a high price unit just up and quit working....like a fuse blew in the SMART cord, but there is no fuse. However, even though my warranty expired over a year ago, Customer Support is sending me a replacement free of charge.

First of all, this is the second Escort iX that I've bought in the last month. It is wonderful, a lot better than my Valentine. Other reviewers have written excellent reviews on the features of this unit and I will let them give you their opinions (I agree with them!). The reason for writing this is to warn you---DO NOT fall for the "Frequently Bought Together" bundle that they recommend, or at least DON'T buy the sticky windshield mount. The description of the radar detector is very poor and does not point out the fact that the detector COMES WITH the latest generation sticky mount, and it uses a marvelous magnetic mount that is so much easier to use that the old clip. Further, when I received the mount (which claims it fits all Escorts except the Max series), I discovered that it is the OLD model, using the clip and not the magnetic mount. And as far as I can tell, it DOES NOT FIT THE iX MODEL! I'm very disappointed with Amazon here. Ordinarily when they "bundle" something as "Frequently Bought Together" with an item, you can be assured that the two things are compatible. NOT HERE. Do NOT buy the windshield mount, and I hope Amazon does the right thing and removes this item as an implied accessory for this detector.

Works great far fewer false alarms than my ix. No worries with Hondas, Acuras, Mazda CX-5’s and Chrysler mini vans setting this one off. That said still use and love my ix with one in each car. This and Waze are A solid combo.

The only thing I'm curious about is why the radar does not detect parked cars with a handheld camera radar detector?? These cars are corruptly using photo radar all over my city, that being said, this is the only reason I bought the radar detector and it doesn't seem to work. Is there a setting I'm just not aware of to make this radar detector work correctly!? Help??!

At times I get false alarms within city limits but rare and it's better to be safe then sorry, on the high way it's amazing seems to pick up ka from a great distance giving plenty of time to slow down. Seems well built suction holds great and the unit is not super bulky so it fits nice on the window with out being annoying. The app is an added nice tough and I like that it allows you to play with the setting on the unit rather then having to go through it all on the device it's self making it much faster to change and modify. Comparing price to one or two tickets I'm pretty sure it's already paid for it's self.

my old 9500 passport finally had its time do upgraded to this and wow heads and tails better then my old one...has well over 2km range...only down side is photo radar in the vans and trucks are hit and miss on picking them up...red light/speed cameras at intersections picks it everytime.. lots og adjustable features like colors which band to ignore mph/km..the new cable is sweet has a usb port for charging phones and what not and the new suction cup mount is a huge upgrade from the old ones

I purchased this product because I drive 80,000 km/yr both in the city and on hwy. I am impressed with the red light cam detection. This product gives you very good notice of upcoming cameras. It worked great on the freeway picking up a laser tag on my vehicle & great range picking up conventional radar. I don't speed very often, but this product seems to work very well when the speed drops and those pesky red light cams are waiting to catch you. Easy install & love the magnet connection!!

Around the city it notes the red light cameras, even if you are on the freeway beside the feeder route. On the highway there seems to be more beeping from automatic road signs than the actual radar traps. Maybe if you drive on the edge and fast this might be good. I tried it on the highway for a couple trips in the summer and found it a bit tiresome. I think if you generally drive normally and go with the flow of traffic, it's really not necessary. On the other hand I think the quality of the unit is really good, but for me mainly just a decoration.
