Erotica had gained a lot of controversy when it was first released in 1992, a decade where the press weren't too friendly with Madonna. Along with the provocative book (now out of print), Erotica was Madonna's most explicit album to date.
Recording sessions started in late 1991 until August of next year. While several songs did not make the final cut on the album, they would eventually be found on two cassette tapes containing a number of demos omitted from the album. These tracks were filed by Madonna’s Erotica co-producer, Shep Pettibone, entitled "The Rain Tapes" . When they originally leaked, many people thought they were fake. This is how the title "The Fake Rain Tapes" was born. Apparently two demos, titled "You Are The One" and "The Jitterbug" have never leaked in any format. A fan tried reconstructing the original "You Are The One" with spoken lines by Madonna and "The Jitterbug" was apparently fan made as well (this was revealed by another YouTuber that the instrumental had been taken from a different singer).
The lyrics are also different than what the original had been; Madonna sings in either a cartoonish or breathless style, the words “ Jitter, b-b-b-b-b-bug, Get up, u-u-u-u-u-up ”. According to fans who have heard the song, the music is like a modern take on the swing music of the 1940s, but incorporates some house style piano and synth horns. The song was confirmed by Tony Shimkin (co-producer of the track) in an interview that the song was intended to be featured in A League of Their Own together with "This Used to Be My Playground" . However, it was abandoned because, as Shimkin states: "We were in the middle of so many other things at the time, and there might not have been a necessity for it in the movie".
