His racy cartoons kick off the collection, lifted from magazine here and there and science fictional and other wise.
One of the most famous pieces in the tome is Wood's Malice in Wonderland which takes Dodgson's little darling and retools her, so to speak for National Screw. There are pages dedicated to the Wizard of Ooz also.
Some oddities I'd never seen before are some sexy fable revisions from a men's magazine called Cavalcade.
Dragonella is included, a very Woodesque fairy tale.
For Marvel he kicked off their Pussycat series, also in one of the copious men's magazines that were quite common once upon a time.
Of a more purely satirical form is the infamous Disneyland orgy scene from The Realist Magazine. It's one of the gems in this book and I'm very happy to at long last have it in a hard copy format after admiring it for years online.
Wood's somewhat gritty pages "My Word" from the ground level Apple Comix #1 are included as well.
Gang Bang is a flat-out soft-porn comic and features some of Wood's more outrageous takes on popular comic strip characters from across the decades. His voluptuous if dizzy Sally Forth is on hand as well.

What a great post and wonderful collection of Wood's work. I did not know he did covers for SCREW.
Thanks sir. Wood did many of them, over a good half dozen and I've been looking for them online with no success. They are pretty funny by and large, good examples of his style I think.
I like Wood's sci-fi art, but this stuff less so. I really don't understand why he had to veer into porn. It sort of leaves a nasty taste in my mouth and (for me) taints his career a bit. I wish I didn't feel this way, but I do.
This blog is closing up shop for the time being. It was created when its big brother Rip Jagger's Dojo was for a time out of commission, but things have changed and the original Dojo is up and running. So there's no immediate need for this "Other Dojo". I will close it from comments in a few days (to scare off the scavengers) , but it will still be up to serve as a potential life boat if there is trouble in the future. One aspect of Wally Wood's career which I've not really spent too much time on is his bent for pornography. Back when comics were squeaky clean vehicles meant only to entertain the teeming and impressionable youth of America and little beyond it was perhaps sensible by and large to keep things like raw unbridled sex at arms length. But that didn't mean that artists didn't dabble in that greatest of all human endeavors, and one of the first I ever knew about who drew stuff like this was Wally Wood. You'd find him on the latest issue of DC's Justice Society of America rendering a sexy new character like Power Girl, rendered strikingly but still within the confines of the weakening but not yet extinct Comics Code Authority. At the same time you could look higher in the racks where the little kids couldn't reach or perhaps behind the counter and find more raucous and frank presentations of sex from a master like Wood.
