"Erasmus+ is a unique program, since I do not know any analogues..."

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master 2019 winner from Uzbekistan

I am Khojiakbar Botirov, was born in Tashkent. I have recently graduated from the Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Faculty of Telecommunications. In addition, except university subjects, I studied web programming and participated in several international projects. It is worth mentioning, that I have always tried to attend in educational exhibitions and actively participated in various forums. For the first time, I heard about Erasmus+ from my friend and then I found an official website (https://eacea.ec.europa.eu/erasmus-plus/library/scholarships-catalogue_en), afterwards started to look for programs suitable for me. My main focus is the data transfer systems and the program “SMARTNET” almost completely coincides with it. Within this program I will study in Aston University (UK), Université Paris-Saclay (France) and University of Athens (Greece). The main reason, why I chose this program is the subjects and technologies that are not yet integrated in our country. Furthermore, I was always interested in sharing knowledge and meeting people of other nationalities - also one of the reasons. I did not experience difficulties when I submitted documents and necessary certificates. Once I had questions, I immediately wrote a letter to the SMARTNET representative and received an answer on average within 3-4 days. When I found out that I won the grant, I was shocked, but a week later I came to myself and thought that my assessments and international programs in which I participated played a big role. In truth, Erasmus+ is a unique program, since I do not know any analogues. It allows students not to be distracted from their studies and live 100% of student life. This is a great experience, exchange of cultures and mentality. My most important goal is to be among the best students and to study big data processing systems in practice. For future participants, I recommend preparing all necessary documents in advance and trying to participate in projects and courses outside the university curriculum.
