Epson EcoTank ET 2850 Inkjet Printer Review

The epson ecotank et 2850 is an inkjet printer that uses high-capacity refillable ink tanks, allowing you to avoid the cost and hassle of replacing cartridges. It offers many of the same features as a traditional inkjet printer, including automatic duplex printing and a flatbed scanner, but the ability to save money on replacement ink makes it a great choice for home use. This model is also relatively easy to setup and maintain, making it an excellent option for homes with a mix of varying print needs.

The ET-2850 looks attractive with a neutral white body that can blend in to any home, or black if you prefer. It's very compact for an all-in-one, measuring 17.6 by 22.3 inches and standing just 10.7 inches tall. Epson wants you to know that this is no ordinary inkjet, and it takes the extra step of using translucent panels on the front of each color tank to show you how much ink is left. It's a good idea, though I'd still prefer a clear display that shows me the exact ink levels rather than just a percentage.

Epson includes a 1.4-inch color display that tilts up and is easy to read, along with buttons for most functions. dlc boot google drive can connect the ET-2850 to your Wi-Fi network, and it supports mobile printing from a variety of devices through its built-in Bluetooth support. The scanner has a flatbed that can hold up to 8.5x11 pages, and it also supports double-sided scanning and copying.

Print speed isn't fast, but it should be adequate for most home printing needs. In our tests, it printed six pages of mixed text and graphics in about two minutes and 29 seconds, or 2.4 ppm. That's on par with a few competitors, although the Canon G6020 and Brother MFC-J4535DW were both quicker.

Photo prints are a bit slower, but that's typical for inkjets. download autocad 2024 -2850 took 6 minutes and 7 seconds to make our landscape photo at high resolution, while the Canon G6020 and Brother MFC-J4535DW both did it in under four minutes.

If you're looking for a better-built printer that offers Ethernet connectivity and an automatic document feeder, check out the Epson EcoTank ET-4850. It costs a bit more, but it's faster, produces higher-quality black-and-white documents and scans, and has a higher page yield. If you need a high-yield ink cartridge that doesn't require replacing often, the Canon MegaTank MAXIFY GX2020/GX1020 is an excellent alternative with a lower price tag. You can find all of these printers online or in stores. They're all worth a look.
