Job responsibilities

• Delivery & Execution: Drive end-to-end project delivery. Partner with product, design, and other stakeholders to reduce uncertainty, mitigate risk, and ship impactful work. Step in where needed - from planning and design to code reviews and unblockers.
• People Management: Lead, mentor and grow engineers through thoughtful 1:1s, regular feedback, and clear development goals. Build a team culture that thrives on learning, trust, and continuous improvement.
• Technical Oversight: Guide architectural decisions and help the team balance speed with scalability. Champion code quality, performance, and technical sustainability.
• Strategic Contribution: Collaborate with other leaders to shape TUMO’s long-term technical vision. Ensure your team’s work maps to big-picture goals.
• Hiring: Help us scale with intention. Partner with recruiting, interview top talent, and make sure new hires land strong.

Required qualifications

Experience

• 7+ years in software development, including 2+ years in a management or leadership role.
• Proven experience mentoring engineers and leading teams through complex projects.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of modern backend and frontend technologies.
• Solid understanding of software design principles, architecture, and system design.
• Hands-on experience with tools and practices that drive tech efficiency, including CI/CD, unit and integration testing, security, observability, performance monitoring, etc. 
• Experience with Node.js, NestJS, TypeScript, Vue.js, PHP, MongoDB is a plus.

Leadership & Communication

• Effective collaborator with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Proven experience working in Agile environments, leading Scrum ceremonies and iterative development processes.
• Resilient and adaptable in fast-paced, changing environments.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and navigating complex challenges.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
