She's majorly into yoga and Pilates.
Summer is a state of mind and Emma Roberts is all about getting into it. The Scream Queens star just dropped two (absolutely amazing) photos of herself on Instagram working a bikini—and I am so here for it.
In the first pic, the 31-year-old actress is hanging out in a spa bathroom in a pink two-piece that shows off her totally toned booty and sculpted legs for days. In the next, Emma is laying on a slab of marble next to a serene-looking indoor pool, clearly blissed out, while flashing some seriously impressive muscles.
“It’s summer somewhere right? ☀️ 💗” she wrote in the caption.
Of course, with snaps like that, people were all over it in the comments: “PRETTY QUEEN😍❤️,” one wrote. “So beautiful as ever 😍🥰😘💕❤️,” another said.
But the mom of one has made it clear that she didn't get that bod by sitting down—and that she's big into working out: “I started working out regularly when I was living in New Orleans shooting American Horror Story: Coven several years ago,” she previously told Shape . “I really fell in love with the food there. To counter all I was eating, I worked out more. It was a great balance: I'd have fried-chicken sliders at night and then go to my yoga class the next morning."
Emma said she works with trainer Andrea Orbeck, “because I need to get my cardio.” She does hour-long sessions that focus on her arms, abs, and ass (which Emma jokingly referred to as the “all-important three As”).
She also does yoga and says that Pilates is her “favorite” workout. “I can see my shape transform within a couple of sessions,” she said. “That's good because I'm that person who, after one class, lifts up her shirt and says, 'Where are my abs?' I want results!'”
Emma doesn’t screw around during her workout sessions. Orbeck told SELF that she’s “ very athletic” and “a little dynamo,” noting that they usually do circuit training sessions that focus on strength training and cardio.
Naturally, Emma eats well, too. She told Shape that she usually starts her day with an iced coffee and Moon Juice’s Spirit Dust , followed by bacon and eggs when she’s not filming.
“For lunch, I'll do a chopped salad with avocado, chicken, and tomatoes,” she said. “Dinner is a turkey burger, or salmon with teriyaki or ponzu sauce, and brown rice with broccoli.” Snacks might include seaweed or chips and guacamole.
But Emma said she’s not into depriving herself. "I try not to say that I won't eat something. Instead, I stay in tune with my body and my mind, and I think, ‘What do I feel like eating?’" she said.
