She's become an overnight success on Netflix show, Sex Education - and Emma Mackey has spoken about the key themes of the new cult show.
Speaking to ES magazine , the 23-year-old discussed what it was like filming sex scenes with her on-screen boyfriend in a post #MeToo environment.
She said: 'The nudity and the sex stuff was fine, because I knew I had to do it. We had a workshop and worked with an intimacy co-ordinator.’

‘We were sorted really, there was a lot of self-love in the show, some full nudity and some half nudity.’
Emma stars as Maeve Wiley in the teenage drama which also features X-Files alum Gillian Anderson as a sex therapist and Asa Butterfield as her son who starts his own sex advice clinic at school alongside Maeve.
On landing the part, Emma said: ‘When I got off the phone I burst into tears and did a clichéd squeal.

'I called my mum and pretended to be very, very cool. Like “Yeah, got this role, it’s not big thing”’
Emma said her mother binge watched the controversial series over the course of a weekend.
She said of her family: 'They love it. Everyone I know of my grandparents’ generation said that they wished it had existed when they were younger.
How things change: Only 12 months ago, Emma was working as a translator and living with friends and family in London to make ends meet (at LFW in February)
'Everyone in my family watched it — my mum’s best friend flew to France to watch it with her, and they binged it in the course of a weekend.’
Now known to millions across the world, only 12 months ago, Emma was working as a translator and living with friends and family in London to make ends meet.
However after receiving the call that would land her a role on the highly anticipated Netflix drama watched by 40 million viewers the actress has been propelled into worldwide stardom.
Before the actress relocated to the UK, she grew up in the rural idyllic Sablé-sur-Sarthe, north-west France, and was educated at a Catholic School.
She said: 'It was really... nice, I went to a Catholic school and did loads of sport and I was really happy. I loved studying and was very bookish. It was quite a sheltered existence.'
However after arriving in Leeds on her own to study English Language she experienced a shock to the system and described having to 'toughen up'.
She said: 'Yeah. I had to toughen up a bit. People made me realise I was quite innocent and oblivious to certain things. I wanted to make people like me.'

Emma Mackey is a French-British actress. She was born in France on January 5, 1994. She started her career in 2016 with the film Badger Lane. Emma rose to fame for her role as Maeve Wiley in the Netflix series Sex Education starring Asa Butterfield.

And, Emma Mackey, 25, detailed the 'bittersweet nature' of moving on from Sex Education as she sizzled on the cover of Hunger magazine.
While gushing that she has made lifelong friends with the cast of the Netflix show, the actress asserted: 'I can't be 17 my whole life!'

Emma looked flawless in a series of stunning shots taken by famed photographer Rankin, as she looked back at her time on the show.
The actress explained: 'Sex Education is so momentous as a concept, as a show, and the cast are phenomenal.
'I genuinely care about them all a lot and I made lifelong friends. But the bittersweet nature of it is that I also can't be 17 my whole life.'
Speaking about her future, Emma revealed to the publication that she may pivot towards filmmaking.
Moving on: While gushing that she has made lifelong friends with the cast of the Netflix show, the actress asserted: 'I can't be 17 my whole life!'

She explained: 'I'm very attracted and seduced by the idea of writing a film and conceiving something, being there at the conception of a story, working at it, seeing it through and then choosing a team.'
Emma's next project is her titular role in Emily Brontë biopic, which will follow the story of the famous author, best known for her iconic novel Wuthering Heights.
Discussing the feminist value of taking on period drama roles, Emma insisted: 'We don't learn enough about women in history.
'And when you read history books the only facts and figures you have about women are who they married and how many children they had or didn't have.'

The upcoming film will see Emma join the likes of Line Of Duty's Adrian Dunbar, Ammonite star Gemma Jones and The Invisible Man actor Oliver Jackson-Cohen.
