Emily Cox is a 35-year-old actress who is based in Berlin and Vienna, when she is not filming for The Last Kingdom. The star plays Brida, the best friend of Uhtred of Bebbanburg (played by Alexander Dreymon), and she became one of the main antagonists in season four. Fans have been keen to find out more about the actress, including whether she has children of her own.
Emily Cox has a fascinating family history, having been born to a British father and Irish mother, in Vienna.
Both of her parents were pianists, and they had travelled to Vienna on a music grant for students.
Cox spent a lot of her childhood in Vienna, and she developed a love of acting through school.
She went on to study acting full-time, before moving to Berlin in 2011.
The star went on to feature in a number of German and Austrian projects, including The Fatherless and Rammbock.
Not much is known about her personal life, and there is nothing to suggest she has any children at the time of writing.
The actress has kept her relationship status private, so it is not clear whether she is married or in a relationship.
The star's social media profiles are dedicated to her work, and she has continued to update fans with her latest projects.
She also shares some snippets of her personal life, with one of her most recent posts featuring her beloved dog.
In the post, her dog is sitting on the back seat of her car as she poses with muddy hands, comparing herself to her The Last Kingdom character. She said: "Who needs makeup when there is mud? And when did Emily turn into Brida?"
Although it appears she does not have any children of her own, she has supported young people in need.
One of her Instagram posts encouraged others to fundraise for a child called Stan, who was diagnosed with Leukaemia as a baby.
Other than this, she has been keeping fans up to date with all the latest news on The Last Kingdom.

The star uploaded a video giving fans insight into stunt training for the series, and she was seen wielding an axe and sword as she rehearsed for a season four battle scene.
She said: "It's so much fun, I wish I could do that all the time. I might start some sort of fighting training after the show."
At the end of season four, Brida was heavily pregnant with Cnut's (Magnus Bruun) child and Uhtred spared her life so she could give birth.
She is expected to have a newborn child to look after at the start of season five, and fans are interested to see how it will impact her story.
Speaking ahead of the season four release, she revealed how Brida was now able to have children again after breaking Skade's (Thea Sofie Loch Naess) curse.
Sadly it was not enough to make her happy, as she had already lost so much growing up.
She told Netflix: "I believe that Brida is actually looking for security. I think that as a child she experienced a lot of uncertainty and a lot of unsafe situations – she saw her family being killed and then she was abducted by the Danes.
"I think what she really wants is to be safe and I think that in her mind, she can be safe where the Danes are because the Danes will always win and that is why she is determined to never leave them."
Like Uhtred, she was born a Saxon but was raised by Danes, and she is still struggling to figure out who she can really trust.

The Last Kingdom is a British historical drama based on Bernard Cromwell’s The Saxon Stories novel series; here’s a guide to its cast and characters.
Who is in The Last Kingdom cast and which characters do they play? Based on Bernard Cromwell’s novel series The Saxon Stories , The Last Kingdom is a British historical fiction drama adapted for the small screen by Baghdad Central creator Stephen Butchard. Set during the early Middle Ages, the epic series spans several decades and chronicles one of the most tumultuous periods in British history: the Viking invasion of the country’s Anglo-Saxon kingdoms.
Since its 2015 debut, The Last Kingdom has been praised for its stunning cinematography, richly drawn characters and epic battle scenes . Unfortunately, the series premiered its fifth and final season on Netflix in 2022 but the show is set to continue with a standalone sequel film titled Seven Kings Must Die that’s currently filming on location in Hungary.
A release date has yet to be scheduled for Seven Kings Must Die , but it’s been confirmed that the cast will feature both new faces and some returning cast members from the show too. Before the sequel film arrives, however, here’s a quick guide for those who want to familiarize themselves with The Last Kingdom's cast and their characters.
German-born American Horror Story: Coven actor Alexander Dreymon tops The Last Kingdom cast as its main protagonist Uhtred – the orphaned son of a Saxon lord who was kidnapped and raised by Danish Vikings and finds himself constantly torn between his ancestry and the pagan warriors he’s come to know as family. Dreymon is set to reprise his role as Uhtred in Seven Kings Must Die .
Brida is a fellow Saxon who was kidnapped alongside Uhtred as a child and eventually became his lover and later nemesis. She’s played by Austrian actress Emily Cox who’s otherwise best known for her role in German comedy series Jerks .
RADA-trained British actress Eliza Butterworth (who appeared on ITV's DCI Banks , which ended on a somber note ) has been a series regular since The Last Kingdom season 2. Butterworth plays the role of Aelswith, the headstrong wife of King Alfred of Wessex whose hatred for Uhtred is reciprocated.
Finan is a fierce Irish warrior who swears allegiance to Uhtred and acts as his sidekick in battle. He’s played by Scottish actor and The Spanish Princess cast member Mark Rowley who joined The Last Kingdom during the second season.
Lithuanian actor Arnas Fedaravičius began playing Sihtric in the second season of The Last Kingdom . Sihtric is the illegitimate son of a Viking warrior who eventually becomes one of Uhtred’s most trusted allies.
Pride And Prejudice And Zombies star Millie Brady plays Aethelflaed on the show. She is the ambitious and impulsive daughter of Aelswith and King Alfred of Wessex who rises to power over the course of her time in The Last Kingdom .
Aldhelm is the right-hand man of Aethelflaed’s husband Lord Aethelred and a high-ranking lieutenant in his army. He’s played by British actor James Northcote who’s also had roles in The Imitation Game and zombie horror Patient Zero .
Harlots actor Timothy Innes joined the cast of The Last Kingdom in its third season. He plays Edward, the younger brother of Aethelflaed who is crowned the King of Wessex following their father’s death.
Cavan Clerkin rounds out The Last Kingdom cast as Father Pyrlig – a Welsh warrior-turned-priest who joins Uhtred’s cause. Beyond The Last Kingdom , Clerkin is best known for his roles in the British TV shows Pulling and The Capture .
Helen Armitage is a freelance writer based in the UK who has been writing online since late 2013. She’s produced content for the likes of Culture Trip, WhatCulture and Prague.TV and started writing for Screen Rant in 2019 – firstly as a news writer before progressing onto writing mini-features. Helen is a lifelong fan of the horror genre which started in the 1980s when films like Gremlins and Cat’s Eye scared the life out of her as a kid. If she had to pick a favorite horror movie it would probably be The Shining but Ari Aster’s Hereditary and Midsommar rank in joint second place. Helen loves a good movie musical too and has probably watched The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Hedwig And The Angry Inch, The Blues Brothers and Little Shop Of Horrors more times than is healthy. She’s obsessed with dogs too so any films from the “sad dog movie” genre (Homeward Bound, Marley & Me, etc) make her ugly cry big time … but she’s still a cold-hearted horror movie fan, ok?
