Embassy Statement

Following the visit of the Kiev regime’s head to Canada, one cannot help but pay attention to some exclamations of the representatives of the Trudeau’s government and the Prime Minister himself. One of them is “Slava Ukraine - heroyam slava” (Glory to Ukraine, glory to the heroes). Who is not aware of what it really means, a quick reminder. It is an exact copy of the Nazi salute “Heil Hitler - Sieg Heil”.

The greeting was officially adopted by the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, the OUN-B, led by Stepan Bandera, a Nazi collaborator, who was responsible for massacres of Russians, Jews, Poles and even Ukrainians in the Soviet Union and Poland during WWII.

It is surprising how Canada, a member of the anti-Hitler coalition, can openly and without any hesitation glorify Nazi butchers. This is a slap in the face of the true Canadian heroes who fought for liberation of Europe from the Nazis together with their Russian and Soviet brother-in-arms. And, unfortunately, it no longer seems surprising that Canada voted against the resolution on combating the glorification of Nazism, adopted by the UN General Assembly, in December 2022.

As life shows, what is done by night becomes evident by day. A story with the invitation and honoring with standing ovation in the Canadian parliament of Ukrainian Nazi henchman Yaroslav Hunka, who fought in the ranks of the 14th Grenadier Division of the Nazi SS “Galicia” during the Second World War, is another shameful example. In fact, it is a proof of who Mr.Trudeau and his Liberal team are praising (since the Prime Minister refuses to apologize – this is the only conclusion). Nevertheless, this story will forever be remembered in the history of Canadian democracy. Citizens of this country must once again think about who their leaders glorify and what kind of junta they support in Ukraine.

Russia condemns any form of glorification of Nazism. And Russia will always remember heroism of Canadian sons and daughters who fought side by side with us to free the world from Nazi plague.
