Elon loses case against Sam Altman.
Elon Musk’s $150 billion lawsuit against OpenAI was dismissed, allegedly because he waited too long to file it.
OpenAI’s lawyers argued that Musk was aware and at times supportive of the plan to convert the nonprofit and chose not to participate. They said Musk sued as an act of revenge motivated by jealousy after he founded a competing AI company, xAI.
The case against OpenAI was dismissed after just two hours of jury deliberations. The decision hands a legal victory to Sam Altman in a case that had overshadowed his plans to go public. Now nothing prevents an OpenAI IPO.
