Each one is great in its own way whether it be their likeness or the use of props and a gorgeous background that transports viewers into the game. If you fancy dressing up as someone very special this Halloween, Naughty Dog has your back in this detailed Ellie cosplay guide.
Halloween is that one eerie time of the year where you can be someone (or something) else entirely and don your most creative attire. While we see plenty of sinister and colorful costumes prancing around the streets on All Hallows' Eve, Naughty Dog has announced the perfect outfit for The Last of Us Part II fans who are looking to channel their inner Ellie in a thorough and comprehensive official guide on how to look just like her.
Naughty Dog's official guide features high-resolution renders and in-depth character designs where we see a close up of 19-year-old Ellie's face in three different positions - front, left, and right profiles. These key angles highlight Ellie's freckles, eye and hair color, plus her distinct scar through her right eyebrow giving the aspiring cosplayer a great idea on how to achieve the look. Naughty Dog has also added in some pictures showing Ellie's face clean, dirty, and blood-soaked - covering all grounds on making this cosplay a very detailed and varied one.
As with a lot of cosplayers, it's the little details that set it apart from the rest and this guide certainly goes into a lot of specifics, for instance, Ellie's altered long-sleeve faded blue work shirt is shown where you can see each and every tear and stain along with her weathered blue denim jeans, worn down and dusty from riding horses. Of course, you couldn't have an Ellie cosplay without her backpack, right? In one extremely meticulous render design, Ellie's sun-bleached canvas bag that she uses as a quiver from her arrows and a holster from her rifle is shown. From its suede leather bottom to the tarnished pins tacked onto the front large pocket, the attention to detail here to outstanding and a blessing to anyone who wants to obtain this look right down to a T.
Ellie's hamsa bracelet charm that was given to her by Dina is shown in high-resolution as well as Ellie's right forearm wrap-around tattoo that covers her bite mark. For the first time, you get to see a comprehensive, up close and personal view of the head of the moth and wings in addition to the leafy fern that we first witnessed while Ellie was playing the guitar in The Last of Us Part II trailer.
There are a lot of key elements that make up the complex character that is Ellie and of course, her weapons come part of that package. Ellie's small Italian mini Stiletto Bayonet is exhibited complete with wood handle and ivory inlay, perfect for cosplayers who love to wield weaponry as part of their attire. As well as the switchblade, Ellie's iconic bow is displayed right down to the three bend charm hanging from the tip and the black and white feathers used to make the arrows. Last but not least, her walnut brown hunting rifle, that was mostly associated with Joel in The Last of Us , is laid out showing two different angles along with a long, curved bladed machete highlighting all the spots of rust through usage.

Cosplayer Sandra Miller looks prepped for the apocalypse in her incredibly realistic Last of Us 2 Ellie cosplay.
The Last of Us Part 2 may have released almost two years ago now, but it still remains one of gaming's most talked-about titles. With passionate players, illustrators, and cosplayers, this game has garnered a truly dedicated community.
Now, with HBO's upcoming live-action adaptation of the title, many fans have delved back into the game for another look at its characters. One of these fans is cosplayer and crafter Sandra Miller , whose photoshoots perfectly capture the apocalyptic world of TLOU 's Ellie.
Ever tried to zoom in on a game screenshot, only to realize it's actually an incredibly well-done cosplay photoshoot? That's the level of quality across all of Sandra Miller's cosplay work. Often taking up the camera herself or editing her photos, Miller is a true Ellie cosplay pro.
With gorgeous foggy skies, dilapidated buildings, and grainy visual texture, her Ellie cosplays demonstrate hardcore grit. There's a real sense of how large and empty the world around her is, which is a testament to Miller's editing abilities. The mood is either perfectly somber or dangerously urgent - a spot-on balance of tones not unlike the game itself.
Additionally, the combination of talented cosplay crafting and her own looks make her a dead ringer for Ellie. She slips easily into the character's shoes, reminding us just how horrifying Ellie's life can be. What makes her cosplays particularly eyecatching is her use of color; from pale blues to striking reds to unsettling greens, Miller shows off her artistic eye in every aspect of these shoots.

Emotional The Last of Us 2 Ellie cosplay looks so good that fans thought it was a screenshot from the game!
As expected, Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2 shone through not only as a narrative masterclass but also in visual beauty. Although some may not have appreciated Neil Druckmann and the team’s vision on how the Ellie and Joel story panned out, it’s fair to say that few complaints have ever been made about the game’s lifelike graphics.
Since its release almost two years ago, cosplayers across the globe have taken to TLOU2 gritty underbelly to portray characters like Joel, Dina, Abby and Ellie. And although most are successful in their craft of mimicking their favourite character, it’s rare to see someone pull off a cosplay as intense and as spot-on as Sandra Miller has in her latest Ellie endeavour.
For those of you who might not be too familiar with the scene in which cosplayer Sandra, who goes by @SandraMillrr on Twitter, is acting out from TLOU2 , let me explain.
After Abby and the gang lead Tommy and Joel to their snow-covered camp outside of Jackson, Abby takes her revenge on Joel for the murder of her father. Firstly by shooting his leg, Abby then carries out the most violent attack on Joel by beating him with a golf club.
While searching for Joel and knowing he was in harm’s way, Ellie comes across Joel being tortured by Abby and subsequently witnesses Joel’s fatal blow, where she watches helplessly as she’s held down by other WLF members.
As you can see, Sandra reenacts this moment with pure heart-wrenching perfection. The cosplay was so good that Sandra had fans convinced that it was a screenshot from the game. The Last of Us creator Neil Druckmann also commented on the post, stating “Hold up. That’s cosplay?! So good!!!”
