The Kissing Booth 3 released on 11th August 2021 and as Mrs Flynn gives Elle some motherly advice, fans can’t help but wonder what actually happened to her mother.
The Kissing Booth movies follow the story of a high school girl who falls for her best friends brother who then pursues their relationship after feelings are made clear at the school fair’s kissing booth.
The first movie was released in 2018 and the second in 2020. Throughout the trilogy, Elle’s mother is mentioned a few times while her passing is only briefly mentioned.

The first movie says that her mother died after she became terminally ill with cancer. The trilogy never really delves into her backstory. However , The Kissing Booth 2 explains that Elle’s mother and neighbour (Meredith Flynn), who just so happens to be the mother of her best friend and boyfriend, was best friends with her mother before she passed.
Meredith and Elle’s mother became friends when they attended the University of California, Berkely together which is where Elle and Lee want to attend in the second movie.
Though her mother passed away while Elle was young, Mrs Flynn becomes a maternal presence and watches over Elle. In the third movie, she is seen giving Elle some much needed motherly advice.
