Elizabeth Liones goes through quite a journey in The Seven Deadly Sins, and not everything about the princess makes sense.
The Seven Deadly Sins is one of the best anime shows to ever be released on Netflix. With its memorable cast and wonderful story arcs, fans everywhere cannot get enough of it. One of the most memorable characters to come from The Seven Deadly Sins is Princess Elizabeth Liones. She may seem like the average heroine in an action-fantasy anime, but she's no wilting flower.
It takes her time, but Elizabeth becomes pretty strong. Plus, her sweet personality makes her one of the most beloved characters in the series. Despite this about her, there are still a few things about Elizabeth that leave even hardcore fans scratching their heads.
It's known that Elizabeth is adopted by King Bartra and Queen Caroline Liones, but there's no mention of her biological parents. Her biological mother was shown briefly when she handed Elizabeth to Meliodas after Danafor's destruction.
After this, Elizabeth's biological parents aren't mentioned and don't play any important roles in the series. But a few fans have wondered if her biological father is still alive and if he'll ever show up in the sequel series .
After fully awakening her Goddess powers, Elizabeth is probably one of the most powerful characters in the series. She was able to slap Meliodas while he was in Assault Mode and send Estarossa flying. She is also able to heal and was able to do so for everyone in the Kingdom of Liones. It's even been said that master druids' powers pale in comparison to her. Elizabeth is also able to speak to the hearts and souls of her opponents and persuade them.
While she's not as experienced in combat as the others, Elizabeth has shown that she is able to hold her own. If properly trained, she could be just as powerful as top-tier fighters like Meliodas and Escanor .
During the Vaizel Fight Festival, Diane and Elizabeth were shrunk by being exposed to special mushrooms. Diane turned normal-size like a human, and Elizabeth was very tiny. She hid inside Diane's shirt while Diane fought, but this was very dangerous. Thankfully, Diane is an excellent fighter and kept Elizabeth safe. Though Diane did give her to Meliodas during the tournament to keep her safe.
However, if Diane had taken a hard hit, Elizabeth could've been seriously injured or died from this. Neither of them took this into consideration, but luckily it worked out in the end.
Elizabeth is the 107th reincarnation of the Goddess Elizabeth. By the end of the series, Elizabeth says she is part-human after fully awakening her goddess powers. She is part-goddess, but it's unknown if she'll ever be a fully-blooded goddess.
Plus, it's unknown if she'll live longer than an average human. Considering she's just as powerful as some of the other characters like Merlin , Elizabeth could use her magical powers to extend her life.
Before she cut her bangs, Elizabeth let bangs cover her right eye for a really long time to mask her orange eye. Because she didn't like looking different than her family, Elizabeth chose to cover her right eye.
It didn't seem to affect Elizabeth's sight at all, but it is curious how it doesn't get in her way in general. It could be used as an excuse for why she's so clumsy , but she's clumsy no matter what.
If anyone thought that being a princess means being graceful , Elizabeth throws that trope out the window. Even though she grew up in royalty, Elizabeth is one of the clumsiest characters in the series. She trips very easily when being a waitress at the Boar Hat, spilling drinks and food on the bar patrons.
It's a good thing Elizabeth is very friendly since the patrons don't seem to mind too much and accept her apologies. Though her sister Veronica is the most tomboyish one of the three sisters, Elizabeth is still the clumsiest one.
At the beginning of the series, Elizabeth escaped her kingdom and donned a rusted armor. She somehow gained reputation from this and anyone that heard of the Rust Knight, feared her. However, most people who heard the rumors assumed it was a mad man since Elizabeth kept muttering the Seven Deadly Sins name.
If anyone had bothered to challenge her while under this guise, they would've found out that she wasn't a threat.
Despite that Margaret is the eldest daughter and firstborn child of King Bartra Liones, he chose Elizabeth and Meliodas to rule his kingdom. Granted, Margaret didn't do much in the story, but she has just as much claim over the throne as her younger, adopted sister. It doesn't seem Margaret minds that Elizabeth and Meliodas have been chosen to rule.
In the epilogue, Margaret tells her father that she wants to enjoy her time with Gilthunder since the two of them have been separated a lot. Considering his time helping the Sins while she has her princess duties, Margaret is probably happier letting Elizabeth take the reins on ruling the kingdom.

In The Seven Deadly Sins, Elizabeth Liones is an action heroine with some incredible secrets. Not a secret: How great these cosplay are.
The Seven Deadly Sins is a popular shonen action series with a stylish magic system, a charming medieval fantasy setting, and all kinds of cool and lovable characters— most of all Elizabeth Liones . She may be royalty, but she is also ready for adventure, and she is hiding more than a few secrets.
Colorful characters like Elizabeth can really put a shonen series on the map, and in the case of The Seven Deadly Sins , Elizabeth practically drives the entire plot, since her good friend Meliodas is risking his very life for her sake. So, Seven Deadly Sins fans decided to pay tribute to Elizabeth Liones with these charming cosplay.
Elizabeth Liones may be a princess, but she doesn't idle all day in the Liones castle. She's ready for action, and she isn't afraid to travel near and far in Britannia to save the day and bring peace to the land. Even still, she could use a break now and then.
Cosplayer lisboa.tata depicts Elizabeth during a down moment, when she can try on the fancier springtime duds in her wardrobe and look her best. She even brought a wide-brimmed hat for the intense noon sun.
Cosplayer miccostumesde knows that Elizabeth gets along well with Hawk the talking pig, and she thinks of Hawk as the Boar Hat tavern's adorable mascot . And in return, Hawk thinks of Elizabeth as one of his best friends, almost like a big sister.
The cosplayer depicts a classic and charming scene straight from The Seven Deadly Sins , where Elizabeth is in a cheerful mood while holding Hawk close, wearing her colorful tavern waitress outfit. Nothing like a good friend while on the long, hard road.
Elizabeth is more than she seems to be. In fact, she's an angel, being reborn again as a human girl only to die and come back yet again. In centuries past, she and her allies faced the Ten Commandments together, but by now, Elizabeth is unaware of any of this.
Cosplayer svperlunary depicts Elizabeth Liones in her true form, garbed in white and holding holy, heavenly magic in her hands while crowned with a halo of dazzling light. This is the Elizabeth who will truly bring peace to the land and end the Holy War at last.
For a gentle and lovable character, it's common for cosplayers to choose soft lighting and a gorgeous backdrop to represent the character's charm, and that's just what cosplayer isiabell did here. Elizabeth is ready to fight, but if she can help it, she'd rather soak in the world's beauty instead.
The soft evening light looks good on Elizabeth here, and she is facing the sun with a confident and optimistic look, as though gazing upon the heavens from which she came. For now, Elizabeth is no angel, but she is on the side of good.
In many ways, The Seven Deadly Sins is classic Western fantasy like King Arthur or Beowulf, with knights, heroes, monsters, honor, and princesses— and these two cosplayers know it. For all his antics and crude humor, Meliodas is ultimately a knight, sworn to Elizabeth the princess.
Cosplayer luna.same depicts Elizabeth in simple, comfortable everyday clothes while her #1 defender and captain of the Seven Deadly Sins, Meliodas , knees before her. He even has armored legs and feet, and Elizabeth is so proud of him.
Many anime shows are known for having a "beach episode" featuring fun in the sun, and that's what's happening here, with cosplayer saddycos depicting Elizabeth having the time of her life splashing around with a pal.
Elizabeth is in a great mood today, and she makes a warm smile for the camera while her giant friend Diane strikes a funny pose, complete with a flower in her hair. It's a fine way to spend a warm summer afternoon.
Cosplay photographer lyel.I2.photo took this shot of the three good friends on a rocky wall, just like the rustic fantasy setting of the Liones kingdom itself. Elizabeth, to the left, is looking a bit cautious— while Meliodas looks relaxed and confident, seated right there on the stone surface.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth's eccentric new guardian, Merlin the magic scientist , is standing to the right, and she's looking just as smugly confident as Meliodas. Elizabeth has nothing to fear if she has these two Holy Knights by her side.
Once again, Elizabeth has realized her true nature, and she is ready to take flight as a fierce defender of the heavens. Cosplayer inuyanna is showing Elizabeth in her prime, when she wore a simple white outfit with a red ribbon for some visual flair.
Elizabeth also has her four angel wings in place, allowing her to soar into the heavens to fight the Ten Commandments without fear. In this shot in particular, Elizabeth looks calm and dignified, and not at all afraid of her Ten Commandment foes.
Love and marriage are more typically found in classic shojo series and some josei series than shonen, but all the same, it's fun to wonder "what if?" when it comes to popular shonen characters like Elizabeth. When and if the heroes triumph over evil, will Meliodas be ready to settle down?
Cosplayer nadi.chri thinks so, and she depicts Elizabeth on her big day, moments before she weds her lover of many centuries: Meliodas. Elizabeth looks gorgeous and elegant in this shot, complete with a bouquet and a striking camera angle.
Cosplayer akshita_.yadav depicts Elizabeth in her original Boar Hat tavern outfit in the middle of a sunlit forest, sitting comfortably while Meliodas joins her to discuss something. Perhaps there's a scheme afoot, and Elizabeth is the only person Meliodas can trust right now.
Cosplay shots like these do a fine job of setting a scene that looks like a moment in the original anime, and viewers can use their imagination as to what exactly is going on here. Perhaps that mystery is exactly what the cosplayers were going for.
