Elizabeth Banks has long been an outspoken supporter of women's rights and general well-being, whether she's championing heart-disease screenings or simply sharing historical facts about suffrage with her Twitter followers. We spoke with the actress today about her first big directing job on Pitch Perfect 2 and a topic so many women are discussing this week: the theft of private photos that impacted several Hollywood actresses, including Elizabeth's costar in the Hunger Games franchise, Jennifer Lawrence . Elizabeth didn't mince words when we asked her, as a famous woman herself, how she reacted to the news.
"I just would say, firstly, that it's a criminal act. It's a total invasion of people's privacy, and whoever perpetrated it should be prosecuted and brought to justice. I'm just hoping that there's a little bit of justice for all of the victims," Elizabeth said. "It's a total violation, and it's a disturbing violation of women."
Elizabeth joins many other high-profile — and everyday — women in condemning the nude photo leak . Apple defended the security of its iCloud in a statement about the hack on Tuesday, saying the attacks were carefully targeted and not the result of any breach of its systems, while the FBI continues to investigate. The case is unfortunately not the first of its kind; a man who published private photos of Scarlett Johansson in a similar attack was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2012.

Elizabeth Banks has locked lips with Marisa Ryan in Wet Hot American Summer and with Alicia Witt in the web series Wainy Days , but according to the actress, those weren't her first same-sex kisses. "I've definitely made out with a few girls in my time," Banks, 39, reveals in a new interview with The Advocate .
"With Marisa in Wet Hot American Summer , that kiss wasn't scripted. It was the second-to-last day of filming, and the director, my good friend David Wain , came up to us and said, 'Let's do one for the crew.' So that kiss was really just a fun and ridiculous gift for all the dudes on the crew," she explains. "In Wainy Days , which is also from David Wain, my character made out with everybody, so she was probably bisexual."
Kissing women is "a little softer" than kissing men," Banks adds. "It is nice not to have to worry about razor burn."
Banks has never actually played a lesbian, but she has daydreamed about who her female love interest might be. " Angelina Jolie is always super hot, and Christina Hendricks is pretty ridiculous," she gushes, "but I think I would have a lot of fun with Emma Stone ."
The Hunger Games actress also insists she's never unwittingly dated a gay man — though she has played women who have on two occasions, first in a 2001 episode of Law & Order: SVU and second in the 2005 movie Height . "Unfortunately, my entire adult life I've been with my now-husband, who I'm 99% sure is not gay," Banks jokes.
The Massachusetts native — who describes herself as "an exhausted mom with two very young children" — has been married to her college sweetheart, film producer Max Handelman , since 2003. They are the proud parents of sons Felix , 2, and Magnus , 8 months.
