Electra is one of the Okeanides, the water bearing cloud children of Okeanos (the Ocean) and Tethys, a Sea Goddess daughter of Gaia. Electra is the Goddess of the Sea Clouds that gather around islands near the summits of mountains. The name Electra from which we get the word electricity was the name of these clouds as lightning was often seen in them. So, Electra is the name of the storm clouds that form near mountaintops near oceans, drawing their moisture and existence from the sea below and producing storms on high mountains.
Electra married Thaumas, a powerful Sea God, and had several children, Iris, Goddess of the Rainbow, and the Harpies (OK, some things work out better than others). The rainbow is often seen extending from the sea into rain or storm clouds, so the Greek mythology is reflecting (bad pun) the actual physical world.
Electra, the Goddess of the Sea Storm Clouds is a goddess worth knowing and honoring. She is powerful and life bringing – bringing vital water to the high mountain dwellers along the seacoast. She is hard to see except at a distance. In fact the closer you get to her, the less distinct she becomes. She is help from afar, a distant helpmate, and a devoted mother to the beautiful rainbow that seems to bring a moment of joy to anyone who sees her daughter.
Honor Electra with amber. We get our beautiful amber from the sea. Interestingly, when you rub amber with a soft cloth you will produce static electricity – honoring Electra as you do. Wear an amber necklace or pendant when you are feeling a bit “stormy.” Use it when you need to make things better but you have to use a bit of force to get the job done. Electra will help you.
Now you might be wondering, what about Electra, daughter of Agamemnon that mourned his murder and helped her brother Orestes avenge it? Well, the Greeks seemed to have had more than one Goddess Electra. Here we are honoring the Greek Cloud Goddess, Electra your helpmate when you need to storm a bit to get things done.

Meet Michael N. Marino, a bold and irreverent, unforgettable protagonist who gets away with murder, or was it self-defense? Mike’s closest associates, including Washington County’s coroner, the sheriff, even the St. Louis mob, are convinced of the latter. It takes a dedicated Washington County detective, a power-hungry DA, and an autopsy performed by a flashy St. Louis medical examiner to prove otherwise.

ELEKTRA (Electra) was the Okeanid-nymph wife of the sea-god Thaumas and the mother of Iris the Rainbow and the storm-wind Harpyiai (Harpies).
Elektra was perhaps the cloud-nymph of the amber-trim, Greek êlektron , of storm-clouds illuminated by the beams of the returning sun. Her secondary name, Ozomene, meaning "Many-Branches" suggests the cloudy source of the rainbow reaching down to the sea.
