While there might be a fair share of 3D scanning and 3D printing companies offering innovative products, few manufacturers cover all of the bases like SHINING3D. The Chinese tech company is tackling a wide range of markets, from entry-level to specialized industries.Although their customers are located across the world, the identity of SHINING3D has long been restricted to Asia. But, their recent office expansion in Stuttgart, Germany marks a critical step for the company’s reach in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) market.Last week, All3DP was in attendance at the grand opening of their new office. Here, SHINING3D offered us a sneak peek at their latest products and evolving business strategy. We also had a one-on-one chat with CEO Li Tao, who gave us exclusive insight into the newest additions to their massive family of 3D technology.SHINING3D CEO Li Tao and Director of EMEA Sunny WongExpanding Global Reach & 3D Scanner Product LineSHINING3D’s opening ceremony brought together industry representatives, journalists, and distributives from all across Europe. After sharing information on their history and business model, finally leading up to the announcement of their EMEA expansion. Now, shining 3d scanner EMEA will offer sales, support, and an innovation center to their customers within this large region. Additionally, the company also made a preemptive announcement that they will open an office in the Americas sometime in 2018.At the opening ceremony, the company set up an extensive range of consumer products and sample prints from their industrial machines. The star of the demonstrative exhibition was surely the next generation of their flagship EinScan 3D scanner line. The EinScan-SE in actionThe new 3D scanning line includes the EinScan-SE and EinScan-SP systems. These two products are built with their customer base in mind, from entry-level to the prosumer. After gathering feedback from thousands of users about the EinScan-Pro, SHINING3D started developing their next line to tackle both markets. Tao tells All3DP:"The EinScan-SE is mainly for education. The software is automated enough for the user to scan and generate a CAD model for printing. They don’t need any further design or data preparation. EinScan-SP is for the serious user who cares about the accuracy and wants to scan bigger objects. They want more advanced settings in the scanner software,".Both desktop scanners offer auto-scan and fixed scan mode. These new models also enable faster single scans and 360° scans. The SE version offers a maximum single shot accuracy below 100 micron, while the SP reaches below 50 micron. From Scanner to Printer: SHINING3D Does it AllAlthough the newly revealed EinScan 3D scanners were the star of the show, Tao also shared some news on their upcoming 3D printer: the EinStart-C. Unlike their industrial-grade printers, this desktop machine is strictly made for classroom or home use. Using their original EinStart model as the basis of design, SHINING3D is focusing in on education with the C version."The consumer-level 3D printer we’re making is for the educational market. This market only need basic printing function, but they care very much about two things. The first is safety, the whole process must be safe, so we’re enclosing the printing process. The second thing is the out-of-box experience, it must be easy enough or else it has no use in the classroom or at home,"SHINING3D plans to unveil the EinStart-C in July 2017, and it will have a price tag of around $500.The company is able to continuously release improved products by making research & development their focal point. According to SHINING3D, they have made it a point to invest 20 percent of their revenue into this field.By combining this with the fact that the company is always seeking out customer feedback, it’s easy to see why their extensive range of products is slowly growing into a household name in the global 3D technology market. Speaking of the new 3D printer, Tao said:"Shining3D is a high-tech company, and we invest a lot on R&D, that’s the most important thing for us. We want to use our technology to help people make mass customization into a reality. Every person is unique, and every person should have a unique product made for themselves. 3D printing technology was the potential to satisfy this requirement, to make everybody treated uniquely," Tao concludes.Check out more photos from the EMEA opening below!
