This Privacy Policy describs how the Chrome extension “Yangi alifbo by chessmaster.uz” (the “Extension”) handles user data.
Purpose
The Extension converts visible Uzbek text on webpages to the new Uzbek alphabet by replacing Oʻ, Gʻ, Sh and Ch with Ö, Ğ, Ş and Ç. It uses Chrome's built-in language detection to avoid changing text detected as English.
Data handled by the Extension
Website content: The Extension reads visible text displayed on webpages solely to detect its language and apply the requested alphabet substitutions. This processing takes place locally in the user's browser.
Local settings: The Extension stores only the user's enabled or disabled preference in Chrome's local extension storage so that the selected state is preserved between browser sessions.
Data collection and transmission
The Extension does not collect, retain or transmit webpage content, browsing history, visited URLs, form data, personal information, authentication information or any other user data to the developer or to external servers.
The Extension does not sell, rent or share user data with third parties. It does not use user data for advertising, analytics, creditworthiness, lending or any purpose unrelated to its single stated purpose.
Third-party links
The Extension contains an optional link to a Telegram page for users who wish to support the project. The link opens only after the user clicks it. The Extension does not send webpage content or other user data to Telegram. After a user opens the external page, Telegram's own privacy practices apply.
Permissions
Storage permission is used only to save the Extension's enabled or disabled preference locally.
Host access is used only to read and modify visible webpage text so the Extension can perform alphabet substitutions. All text processing remains local to the browser.
Data retention and deletion
The enabled or disabled preference remains in Chrome's local extension storage until the user changes it, clears extension data or uninstalls the Extension. Since no other user data is collected or retained by the developer, there is no additional user data to request, export or delete.
Security
Because webpage content is processed locally and is not transmitted to the developer, it is not stored on developer-controlled servers.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the Extension's functionality or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly.
