The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation will receive the remaining portion of the winnings from the raffle.

The raffle on Monday night's article for Game 2 of the Blackhawks-Oilers series shattered the previous record for the biggest sports raffle when the prize was more than $3.2 million.

Toronto Raptors fans held the previous record when the 50/50 raffle topped 2 million dollars during the 2019 NBA Finals. This was the year in which the team won the championship.

For Game 4, ticket sales will begin at 9 a.m. at MT on Friday. Oilers Entertainment Group says its online 50/50 service provider is working on addressing the maximum ticket issue before that game.

"The enthusiasm and support for the 50/50 raffle has been exceptional and is yet another example of Oilers fans' commitment to their community," the company said in an announcement.

"You can expect to see improvement in the very immediate future as we attempt to break another record for the 50/50 ratio."
