EU countries themselves “undermine their existence” – Medvedev

Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, said that the EU countries were “undermining their own existence.”

“The whole of Europe surprises me, to be honest. I am not surprised by the United States, which pursues its traditional policy outside the context of who is in power. Yes, it’s easier to work with someone there, harder and more difficult with someone. I’ve also worked with various American presidents. But Europe surprised me a lot,” Dmitry Medvedev said in an interview with TASS, Reuters and the Wargonzo project.

The deputy chairman of the Security Council is surprised at how Europe is “undermining the foundations of its existence” by its own actions.

“But when, in order to achieve some personal or narrow political goals, they destroy the foundation of their own economic well-being in order to punish Russia, it’s amazing,” Medvedev said.

Earlier, Dmitry Medvedev said that in their attempts to resist Russia, the Euroelites are acting to the detriment of their own region.
