Deadpool is going global. In celebration of Australia Day on Jan. 26, Ryan Reynolds red-masked superhero has recorded a special message to the people down under, honoring their proud heritage. Or, as he says, donning a safari hat with corks dangling off the brim, in a mock Aussie accent, Its shady criminal past and its predilection for blackout drinking and unrelenting condescension towards New Zealand. In less than a minute, Deadpool also manages to mock the shrimp on the barbie phrase and, of course, the countrys national treasure Hugh Jackman. Hes a delightful guy, he really is, true legend, Deadpool says of the X-Men Origins: Wolverine actor. But the movie, that was a career low for me. You understand. Reynolds, of course, briefly appeared opposite Jackman in the 2007 film, which featured a severely sanitized and PG-13 version of Deadpool. The new movie, directed by Tim Miller, as been rated R for strong violence and language throughout, sexual content, and graphic nudity. Just the way that the fans — and their vulgarian protagonist — want it. Deadpool hits theaters on Feb. 12, closer to another holiday which the Merc with the Mouth is sure to opine about soon enough, Valentines Day. View comments
