Elk Grove, CaliforniaElk Grove is a city in Sacramento County, California, United States. Located just south of the state capital of Sacramento, it is part of the Sacramento metropolitan area. As of the 2020 Census, the population of the city was 176,124. A 2021 Census estimate puts the population of the city at 187,985. Elk Grove has many wineries, wine cellars, and vineyards. Elk Grove was the fastest-growing city in the U.S. between July 1, 2004, and July 1, 2005, and is also presently the second-largest city in Sacramento County by population. It is a general law city with a council/manager form of government. One of Elk Grove's largest employers is the Elk Grove Unified School District, which is the city's second-largest employer.

Bill CartwrightJames William Cartwright (born July 30, 1957) is an American former professional basketball player and a former coach. A 7-foot-1-inch (2.16 m) center, he played 16 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls and Seattle SuperSonics, helping the Bulls capture consecutive championships in the 1991, 1992 and 1993 seasons. He attended Elk Grove High School in Elk Grove, California, and played college basketball for the San Francisco Dons. Following his playing career, he served as the head coach of the Chicago Bulls, the Osaka Evessa of the bj League and the Mexico men's national basketball team as well as an assistant coach for several years in the NBA.

Rowdy TellezRyan John "Rowdy" Tellez ( tə-LEZ; born March 16, 1995) is an American professional baseball first baseman for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers, and Pittsburgh Pirates. He has played for the Mexico national baseball team. In 2013, Tellez was both a Baseball America and a Rawlings First Team High School All-American. He was drafted by the Blue Jays in the 30th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft. In 2015, Tellez was a Midwest League All-Star, and named to the Arizona Fall League (AFL) All-Prospect Team and an AFL Rising Star. The following year, he was named an Eastern League All-Star, an MiLB.com Toronto Blue Jays Organization All-Star, and a Baseball America Double-A All-Star. He made his major league debut in 2018, and is the only player since 1913 to hit seven doubles in his first seven major league games.
Steve LySteve Ly is an American politician who served as mayor of Elk Grove, Sacramento County, California from 2016 to 2020. Before serving as mayor, he was a part of the Elk Grove City Council of District 4. Steve Ly also served on the Elk Grove Unified School District, Board of Trustees. He was the second directly elected mayor of Elk Grove and the first ethnically Hmong mayor in the United States. On November 3, 2020, Ly was defeated by Bobbie Singh-Allen in his bid for a third term as mayor.
