A British woman was arrested and jailed in Hurghada for carrying the painkiller Tramadol. Carrying or smuggling drugs in Egypt can result in a lengthy prison sentence or the death penalty. Although they do not mention specific drugs which would take forever would you try to bring in heroin, crack-cocaine, ecstasy, weed? She is not as stupid as you think. She knew exactly what she was doing and she can lie as much as she likes it don't wear with me. She clearly hid Tramadol in various other medication boxes in her luggage so please do not tell me she didn't know what she was doing. Don't wash with me so if she was disguising what she had why would she do That if she is ignorant to the law? There are rules in many countries not just here. Bring what medication you need for the duration of your holiday. As said, hiding the tramadol in other pill boxes is clear evidence of guilt. Was about to say the same beckett, if she didn't know then her husband would have done surely. Everyone in Egypt knows that tramadol is not allowed, so yes he knew but decided to take the chance that she 'might' get away with it. Sorry guys, but it's not nice at all knowing that someone might get arrested because of that and still doing it. If a foreign person asks you to take drugs into their country because they are illegal there, its obvious there is a risk. In fac, as the drug was not prescribed for her, and tablets was probably not legally prescribed for anyone, it was a criminal offence in the UK before she even left the country. Drugs mules are often emotionally manipulated by a dealer but frankly it's not a meritorious defence to claim a romantic entanglement with him. She broke the law before she even left home by getting prescription drugs from a friend who was prescribed them. If she had been convicted in the Uk would there have been as much coverage? This particular female was either in so much pain before the Holiday that probably she should not have travelled or was trafficking. You may wish to carry illegal substances into any country in the World, if that is your thing, but do not cry about it when caught and face up to your accusers and accept their penalties.
