BULLET WOUND TREATMENT
1. Call for HELP & get to SAFETY
Call an ambulance (911) - you can request to remain anonymous when asked for name
2. STOP THE BLEED- prioritize life over limbs
Cover holes (both entry and exit) on chest, back, or abdomen with occlusive material (ex: Ziploc bags, latex, anything similarly non-porous), but allow a little air to escape through the dressing on one side.
Apply consistent and heavy pressure with both hands on wound area until EMT arrives.
Pack clothing into the wound (unless it is located in the abdomen); if a limb is shot and you have experience in doing so, use more clothing for makeshift tourniquet
3. If victim is UNCONSCIOUS, check for absence of breath & pulse
If all 3 requirements are fulfilled, maneuver victim on back and perform CPR:
Deliver compressions by pushing on chest hard and fast using both hands; continue until victim is breathing, or until ambulance arrives
TEAR GAS TREATMENT
1. (PRECAUTION) Wear scarves and goggles; the less skin exposed, the better
Also refrain from wearing makeup and contacts. If you are to wear makeup, make sure to use setting powder in order to protect your face
2. Hold your breath, close your eyes, and get AWAY from the source
Seek fresh air ASAP, and safely
3. If any of the following are affected:
Clothes: remove contaminated articles and place in a plastic bag, wash at home
Skin: wash with a lot of soap and water
Eyes: remove contacts and flush with water for 10~15 minutes, or spray equal parts water and milk of magnesia onto closed eyes (do NOT use baking soda)
PEPPER SPRAY TREATMENT
1. If skin is affected, DO NOT touch until you can wash with soap and water
This is to prevent the spread of the solution to the rest of the body
2. If eyes are affected, blink rapidly; DO NOT touch eyes, instead pour saline solution into eyes, away from nose:
Combine 2 tsp salt and 1 L water
Have victim open eyes for 3~5 seconds while pouring, then close; pour more if pain persists
Pour AWAY from the nose
(Alternatively, spray equal parts water and milk of magnesia onto closed eyes. Do NOT use baking soda)
3. Remove contaminated clothing and place in a plastic bag
Bring a change of clothes, wash at home
