DUSTIN Diamond, who played Screech on Saved by the Bell, released a sex tape over a decade ago.
In 2006, Diamond released the dirty movie, titled Screeched - Saved By The Smell, in which he appears to have sex with two women in a hotel room.
Diamond previously explained to Oprah Winfrey that, having played Screech since he was 12, he felt lost when the role ended for him at age 23.
He was having money trouble at the time he was 29 and thought a sex tape could make a fast buck.
“My buddy was at my house and the rumor was that Paris Hilton made $14million off her sex tape,” Diamond explained to Oprah on her show Where Are They Now?
“And my buddy said, ‘$14million, holy smokes. Where is the Screech sex tape? You’ve got to be worth at least a million.’ And I thought, 'Yeah, maybe.’"
He also admitted that he'd used a "stunt person" in his place to actually have sex in the film.
And while he says it did make him some money, it wasn't worth the fallout of being looked down on by others.
It is also something he had to contend with from his Saved By The Bell colleagues when he published a scandalous tell-all book about his experience making the show.
He had been told he had anything from a few weeks to a year or two left, although his friends had hoped he would "outlive the odds."
"There are two things Dustin asked for....the ability to talk to Justin Chancellor about music and to be able to visit Disney World to see Star Wars Galaxy Edge," his friend Dan Block exclusively told The Sun.
"Dustin was learning to play several Tool songs and wanted to start a Tool tribute band. He was in the process of starting the band before being diagnosed with cancer.
"He would play the song and play along with his bass while watching YouTube videos."
Although it was speculated that Diamond smoked, he denied ever smoking cigarettes before his passing .
He believed his stage four cancer was caused by "asbestos and mold" in various hotels he stayed at while working as an actor and stand-up comedian.
Plenty of reactions poured in after TMZ revealed Diamond's unexpected death, as former costar Mario Lopez was quick to pay his respects.
He tweeted: "Dustin, you will be missed my man. The fragility of this life is something never to be taken for granted.
"Prayers for your family will continue on…"
Dustin's other ex costar Mark-Paul Gosselaar also paid tribute as he added: "Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dustin Diamond, a true comedic genius.
"My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Looking back at our time working together, I will miss those raw, brilliant sparks that only he was able to produce. A pie in your face, my comrade."
Tiffani Thiessen, who played Kelly Kapowski on the popular sitcom, wrote: "I am deeply saddened by I the news of my old co-star @realdustindiamond passing.
"Life is extremely fragile and it’s something we should never take for granted. God speed Dustin."

'Saved by the Bell' star Dustin Diamond, who produced his infamous sex tape, died after losing battle against cancer

On February 1, ‘Saved By the Bell’ star Dustin Diamond lost his battle against cancer. Diamond’s agent confirmed in a statement that the 44-year-old actor, who played the role of Samuel “Screech” Powers in the acclaimed sitcom, died in a Florida hospital after battling stage 4 cancer. Among his peers and fans, Diamond will be remembered for his several stand-up comedy gigs and for making his own sex tape in the hope that it would make him a lot of money, just the way Paris Hilton got more famous after her sex tape was leaked online.
Earlier in January 2021, Diamond checked into the hospital after enduring pain throughout his body from shingles. After the cancer was discovered, he underwent chemotherapy and was scheduled to undergo a second round in a couple of weeks. Diamond’s agent confirmed the news of his passing in a press note. His agent confirmed that the ‘Celebrity Fit Club’ star was diagnosed with malignant cancer only three weeks ago, and in such a short span of time, “it managed to spread rapidly throughout his system; the only mercy it exhibited was its sharp and swift execution. Dustin did not suffer. He did not have to lie submerged in pain. For that, we are grateful.” Diamond’s agent also alluded to his various controversies, most notably his self-produced sex tape.
While talking about his sex tape, titled ‘Screeched’, Diamond recalled in 2013 that it was the most embarrassing thing he ever did in his life. During his appearance on ‘ Oprah: Where Are They Now? ’ he explained the idea of having a sex tape came when he learned about Paris Hilton allegedly making a whopping $14 million off her sex tape. Diamond’s friend told him that his sex tape would at least fetch him a million bucks, and that is how he materialized the entire sex-tape concept into reality.
While talking about shooting the sex tape, Diamond claimed back then that they used a body double to shoot the raunchy scenes. “And in my stupidity, I thought I could totally fake this. I could get a stunt person to take my place. It’s my face but nothing else. Looking back now in my 30s, I realize that was really dumb,” Diamond added.
"I put the thing together. I got a stunt wang. I'm not an idiot. I'm not going to really put myself out there. So I got a stunt person to come in. And I thought, what if this thing makes $3 million? That's nothing to scoff at. But after that, people looked at me dirty, like, 'He does porn.' No, I don't!"
To Diamond’s disappointment, he did not make that much money which he predicted. He added that he made some money out of his sex tape, but it was not worth it as it had severe consequences. “People to this day look down on me. There’s a lot of people [who think] ‘how disgusting of you’ -- and I didn’t really do it.”
