This page tells of the current history of Webby Vanderquack from the rebooted Ducktales.
Webbigail "Webby" Vanderquack is a young American girl Duck raised in McDuck Manor since infancy by Mrs. Beakley . She is an avid historian of Clan McDuck , an interest that would prove to have an unexpected source.
Webby was born as the result of Project 87 , a bid by F.O.W.L. and Bradford Buzzard personaly to produce an individual who could help them obtain the Papyrus of Binding . Codenamed April , she was created using genetic material from Scrooge McDuck , effectively making her his daughter.

However, while still an infant, she was discovered in F.O.W.L. headquarters by Mrs. Beakley , who abandoned her pursuit of F.O.W.L. in order to get the child to safety.
Beakley found a new purpose in life
Naming the baby Webbigail, Beakley left behind her work at S.H.U.S.H. in order to insure that Webby could grow up in the safest place she knew of: McDuck Manor.

In making this choice, Beakley unwittingly allowed Webby to live under her biological father's roof.

Apparently unaware of Webby's true identity, Beakley concocted a false history, claiming the child as her own granddaughter and claiming that she had retired from spy work to raise her after her daughter, Webby's supposed mother, had died along with Webby's father. [1] Webby grew up happy but sheltered, her grandmother giving her the best of training in preparation for future hazards but also proving fiercely protective of her. Webby would later recall that, due to her sheltered life and the respective origins of the manor's other inhabitants, she was around seven years old before she recalled first hearing anyone speak with any American accent. [2]
As she grew, Webby developed a passion bordering on obsession with Clan McDuck , unaware that she belonged to that family by blood. She avidly researched all of Scrooge's adventures, and was also familiar with those of his estranged nephew Donald Duck . One of the few topics on which she was unable to garner any information was Donald's sister Della Duck , who had disappeared some years previously due to Bradford Buzzard's actions. This would prove to be the result of Scrooge himself gathering and hiding all information concerning his missing niece. Webby recalled that on one occasion, a piece of junk mail addressed to Della arrived at the manor, and Scrooge promptly bought the post office that had sent it and shut it down, with the mailman responsible for the delivery disappearing.
Webby's research naturally led to her interest in the Clan McDuck archives at the Money Bin , much to the chagrin of librarian Emily Quackfaster . [3]

"But one day I'm going to see the world. I'm going to be an explorer! I'm going to go eat a hamburger."
Webby's life changed completely on the day three strange boys arrived at the manor. Suspecting that they might be agents of one or another of Scrooge's various enemies, Webby took them prisoner and began to interrogate them. However, when they referred to " Uncle Scrooge", Webby soon realized who they were: Huey , Dewey , and Louie Duck , Scrooge's great-nephews through his niece Della. She quickly made the acquaintance of the trio, and decided to show them around McDuck Manor...through the air vents.

She led them into the garage, which housed a number of artifacts Scrooge had accumulated over the decades, including a painting of himself, Donald, and Della (though her image was hidden at the time) - on an adventure. The nephews, having grown up with Donald as an anxious helicopter parent, quickly expressed doubt in Webby's claims.
Desperate to prove the truth of their heritage to the boys, Webby made the mistake of opening a chest containing the spirit of Captain Peghook , and his appearance set off a chain of events that awakened both the Headless Man Horse and the Deus Excalibur .

Before the kids could figure out how to deal with the threats, Scrooge appeared, and handily dealt with the mystical menaces before turning on the children in wrath.

Unfortunately, his actions completed a ritual-begun during the brief altercation-needed to unleash Pixiu , who soon flew off to attack the Money Bin with Scrooge clinging to his tail. Despite Scrooge ordering them to remain behind, Webby was determined to help him, and the nephews quickly agreed.

Enlisting Scrooge's chauffer, Launchpad McQuack , for his piloting abilities, the four pursued the gold-hunting dragon in Scrooge's plane, the Sunchaser . Webby then lists items that could help, and Louie just happens to have one (which he states he was going to give back) - the Medusa Gauntlet .

Launchpad flies in closer to the dragon, who has opened up a hole at the top of the Money Bin , and Scrooge is swung closer to him using a hose pipe.
Dewey: "You guys, our family is awesome."
Scrooge grabs the dragon by the tail, and the gauntlet takes effect, turning him to stone again. Scrooge falls down into the bin and starts swimming around in his gold. Busy enjoying the scene, Launchpad crashes the plane.

When he gets out, he starts to inform them of all the danger that they started. But to their surprise, he laughs, finding the whole thing exciting. He then phones Mrs. Beakley and tells her that he's taking the children on a "field trip". Meanwhile, Donald has been given the job of 'sailor'. It is revealed that his new employer is Flintheart Glomgold, who asks Donald what he knows about Atlantis. [4]

Flintheart Glomgold sets out for Atlantis with new employees Gabby McStabberson , Hack and Slash Smashnikov , and Donald while Scrooge, the kids, and Launchpad are heading for the same location in their submarine. Dewey, eager for adventure, is bored by the fact that they are taking a slower but safer route to the sunken city.
Louie requires Webby to call her grandmother
Louie, meanwhile, convinces Webby that she needs to lie to her grandmother Mrs. Beakley about her whereabouts, as Webby failed to tell Beakley about the expedition but doesn't think her grandmother would approve.

After arriving to Atlantis Webby after receiving several calls from her grandmother tells to her claims that she's staying at a friend's house, that her name is Sabina and that her friend's Swedish uncle is visiting
Everyone is surprised that venom-addled Launchpad can speak Swedish
only for a venom-addled Launchpad to take the phone and break into Swedish right before Glomgold and his henchmen stumble across them.

After that Scrooge, Dewey and Donald retrieved the Jewel of Atlantis they find Webby, Launchpad, and the others nephews handily dealing with Glomgold's minions; however, Glomgold has escaped with the false jewel and fires missiles from his sub, perfectly willing to destroy Atlantis and his own minions if it means beating Scrooge.

Fortunately, Scrooge's party-with Gabby and the Smashnikovs in tow-are able to get back to their sub and make their escape.
Webby and Louie find out that Beakley knew everything all this time
Scrooge arrives at Duckburg harbor just in time to show up Glomgold, whose jewel is revealed to be cursed as a tentacled sea creature carries him way.
Webby is ashamed in front of her grandmother for her own lies
The group is then met by Mrs. Beakley, who hasn't been fooled by Webby's deceits but feels that her granddaughter is safe enough in Scrooge's company, though she insists on her being honest from now on.

Donald admits to being overprotective and decides that the nephews can see Scrooge in the future, only for the houseboat to explode due to Dewey leaving the engine running. At Scrooge's invitation, the four move into McDuck Manor with the houseboat being crane-lifted into Scrooge's swimming pool by Launchpad.

As his brothers and Webby are playing with Scrooge, Dewey reexamines the painting of Scrooge and Donald adventuring together, and upon lifting a drooping corner discovers a third participant: his mother Della Duck.
In " Daytrip of Doom! " Webby during the plaing in dart tag with the boys takes the game most seriously, donning night-vision goggles and traps to hunt them down. Scrooge doesn't mind their antics and even tells Dewey not to shout when he's aiming at something.

As Scrooge walks to the bathroom, Mrs. Beakley voices her disapproval with their behavior, as it damages the house she alone has to clean up. Scrooge still dismisses these concerns until he arrives to find his nephew Donald using his bathtub to clean his clothes.
Finally furious, Scrooge summons everyone to a family meeting to lay down the limits of the manor: his space is his space, and refers to Mrs. Beakley for any other rules. Mrs. Beakley continues the meeting after Scrooge leaves, and reveals her own complex set of rules for the ducks. Much to Donald's chagrin, one of them is that nobody is above her or Scrooge, not even Donald. The two get into a fight, telling the kids to leave.
After leaving, the kids ponder what to do for the day. Webby suggests playing more games; the boys immediately turn this down and Louie suggests they instead go to Funso's Funzone, a family playground.

Because Webby is socially (and mentally) lost, due to have never been outside the manor before, Dewey invites Webby who is excited about the idea.

Accepting the offer, Webby, due to her concern about acting awkward on the trip, tries to play it cool. Things do not go in stride during the trip however, as Webby causes trouble on the bus ride spurned from her excitement, causing the driver to kick the kids off the bus.

The boys take this in stride, and opt to walk to Funso's instead, although they now find themselves through a shady part of Duckburg. Along the way, they are spotted by Beagle Boys (consisting of Burger, Bouncer, and Big Time), who recognize the duck children as Scrooge's.
