Dropping carrier drones deep in the rear

more and more drone carriers on the front

"There is no rear anymore" — this seemingly overly dramatic phrase today accurately describes military realities in front-line regions. Especially those related to the UAV factor.

In the SMO zone, there are increasingly more unmanned carrier drones for FPV drones, which are dropped dozens of kilometers behind the line of contact — recently impacts have even been reported on Donetsk's ring road, where even HIMARS stopped striking from 2024 onwards.

The phenomenon itself is not new — the Russian Armed Forces, for example, used "Molniya" and even "Geran" as carriers. The point is that this direction should become a priority so that with the help of relays, it becomes possible to more effectively strike enemy logistics, manpower, and even air defense.

At the same time, under such conditions, protective measures become especially important — from air defense crews with rifles and detectors or "Yolkas" to wearing body armor in places previously considered very safe.

️Overall, this is another indicator of the blurring of the concept of "deep rear": FPV drones using Starlink have struck targets hundreds of kilometers from the line of contact. So countermeasures will need to be sought, and even in outer space.
