The gold lamé dress worn by Ginger Rogers in one of the scenes was worn again by Marilyn Monroe in a short scene in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953) . Marilyn visited Ginger on the set and instantly loved the dress.
When Miss Marlow's cab arrives at her "real" hotel after she leaves the flop house the head lights are off; (probably to reduce glare) but when the angle changes the lights are back on.

"Those pictures were designed to capitalize on the vicarious cravings of middle-aged glandular cases."
Former silent film star Gloria Marlowe (Ginger Rogers) is hosting a show on TV that features her old movies. This causes problems for her former costar, Thornton Sayre (Clifton Webb), now a respected college professor. Sayre, who was known as Bruce Blair during his acting days, sets out with his bookish daughter (Anne Francis) to stop the movies from being shown. What a treat this is. One of those movies you never hear about but is just great fun. Clifton Webb is terrific, throwing out one pithy line after another. I'm kind of surprised Ginger did this part, given that it dates her in a way most actresses of the time wouldn't want any part of. Actually, it makes her seem older than her real age. Props to her for not caring. You sure as heck wouldn't have caught Joan Crawford admitting to being 40 -- even when she was 60! She looks amazing, though, and is very funny. It's one of her best post-1940s comedic roles. Anne Francis is cute as a button and holds her own quite well. Supporting cast includes a wonderful Elsa Lanchester and an early role for Jeffrey Hunter. The fake silent movies are hilarious. It's especially funny seeing Webb channel Douglas Fairbanks in one of his action scenes. It's an underrated gem of a comedy that provides some smart commentary on celebrity and satire on television ("The phenomenon of television -- it encourages people who dwell under the same roof to ignore each other completely"). Definitely a movie you should check out if you get the chance, especially if you're a fan of Clifton Webb or Ginger Rogers.

Denham : Ham. To be or not to be...
Thornton Sayre : Denham, the word "Ham" is not to be read; neither as part of the soliloquy nor as a self-condemnation of your own performance. It is an abbreviation of "Hamlet," the character who is speaking.

Once a year the DREAM BOAT sets sail for a cruise exclusively for gay men. we follow five men from Poland, Palestine, India, France and Australia on a quest to live an authentic life. The cruise promises seven days of fun. All i saw in this Documentary ( I thought it was a movie but.....) all i saw was a group of guys who are alone due to their own designs and drinking a lot too. I did not spark to any of these people and feel nothing for any of them, none of them were engaging at all. If i can't feel anything for the docs principle men then this means nothing to me. They show these guys to be shallow and vapid. Not what i am looking for at all. .

This is not what I thought it would be, well it is but that's not what the story is about . On this cruse they interview men about their lives I would not go on a gay cruse, for me it is a place where you hook up for a lot of anonymous sex, To me at least you have two types of gay men, one's who in brace the gay lifestyle and it becomes their lives. And people like me. I am a man who is gay not a gay man It is such a small part of my life compared to the rest.

Gay cruises have mixed reputations depending on who you ask. This is a well-produced documentary following the stories of several gay men as they attend their first gay cruise.

I'm a person with a disability and gay in America. People with disability are completely shunned and invisible in America. I never go out, I would never go on a cruise. My level of confidence is so low, I would be totally demoralized. That is why I found Phillipe amazing and brave. Beautiful cinematography, but wanted to know more about each person.

Watched this on netflix. I was curious what a gay cruise is like and what people do on the ship (I always imagined people have sex nonstop). Turns out that's not really the case. Imagine stretching the typical gay bar experience to the duration of 1 week. Multiple themes of particular interest to gay life are touched upon, including love, aging, hiv. Concerning love, seems like a lot of guys dream finding a romantic partner that will somehow make them a lot happier. A lot of it is driven by a sense of loneliness. It is ironic that this is experienced by both the above average looking guys and the below average looking guys, but in opposite ways. The former thinks they get too much "shallow" attention and everybody just want to have sex. The latter gets no attention and wishes for intimacy. But as a result they both don't get enough. An example in the documentary is the Polish guy and the Dubai guy. Concerning aging, not much new is said about it but the observation (in voice of the people in the film) that yeah, youth doesn't last long and one might want to look beyond the surface qualities. Regarding hiv, the usual story about the massive deaths in the early days before it turned into a manageable condition.
