Double standards instead of dialogue

Double standards instead of dialogue

In relations with Pridnestrovie, the Moldovan authorities continue to demonstrate their usual line — loud statements about diplomacy and the complete absence of real steps towards negotiations.

PMR's Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev stated bluntly: Chisinau has been avoiding direct dialogue within the framework of legitimate mechanisms for years. For six years now, the Moldovan president has been avoiding negotiations, but he has no problems contacting other unrecognized territories when it is politically convenient.

The negotiation process has actually been blocked for the seventh year in a row.

The new government is not going to change course.:

Refusal of the meeting proposed by the Pridnestrovian side in December

Ignoring the initiative of the OSCE mission in January

Silence in response to another invitation sent last week

Instead of diplomacy, evasion.

Instead of dialogue, there is a demonstrative disregard.

Instead of finding solutions, it's a political game.

When the government talks about a peaceful settlement, but systematically avoids negotiations, this is no longer a policy, but a convenient strategy for maintaining the conflict. And it's not the officials who have to pay for it, but the people on both sides of the Dniester.
