Pugna is a ranged intelligence hero whose spells give him powerful nuking and pushing capability. Nether Blast is a low-cooldown area nuke with slight delay that deals significant damage to buildings, giving Pugna the option to use it both as a basic nuke as well as a pushing spell. Decrepify is a unit-targeted spell that gives its target the ethereal status effect, rendering them unable to take physical damage but also slowing them and decreasing their magic resistance. Nether Ward drops a stationary, ward-like device that severely debilitates enemy casting, dishing out powerful nukes proportional to how mana-intensive the enemies spells are. Pugna's ultimate ability, Life Drain, is a channeling ability that saps enemy health and grants it directly back to himself. It can be cast on allies to give them health and mana as well. With a strong array of nukes and a spell specifically designed to amplify them, Pugna is a force to be reckoned with both in teamfights and solo situations, able to blast his foes into Oblivion quite easily.
"Who needs a blade when you have oblivion?"
In the realm of Pugna's birth, near the vents of the Nether Reaches, there stood a lamasery devoted to the Arts of Oblivion, which drew its power from the nether energies. The Grandmaster of the temple compound had himself passed into Oblivion several years prior, leaving his academy without a leader. From the moment of their master's death, the regents of the temple began rites of divination to identify their master's reincarnation, and eventually all signs converged on the immediate neighborhood. Several villages squatted in the shadow of the temple, their alleys and plazas full of the laughter of squalling children.

Pugna, a mere thirteen months of age, was but one candidate among the local brats, and on the appointed day he was presented at the temple alongside two other promising tots. The lamas offered a jumble of worn relics to the children, treasured possessions of their former grandmaster. One boy reached for a porphyry wand that had belonged to the lama...and put it in his nostril. An impish girl pulled out an amulet that had also been the lama's, and immediately swallowed it. Pugna regarded the other two coolly, gave a merry laugh, and blasted them with gouts of emerald flame, reducing them to ashes in an instant. He then snatched up the wand and amulet, saying 'Mine!' The regents hoisted the beaming Pugna on their shoulders, wrapped him in their grandmaster's vestments, and rushed him to the throne before his mood could change. Within five years, the temple itself was another pile of ash, which pleased Pugna to no end.

A powerful banishing spell that slows a unit and renders it unable to attack or be attacked. Afflicted units take extra magic damage.

A now-mastered relic from his childhood, Pugna delights in banishing others into the Nether Realm, whether for good, evil, or simple enjoyment.
Pugna places a Nether Ward at the target location. The ward causes nearby enemy heroes to lose a percentage of their max mana every second, and will fire at any enemy hero who casts a spell. Nether Ward deals base damage plus the damage multiplier of the mana spent by the enemy hero.

While at the lamasery for the Arts of Oblivion, Pugna learned to dominate his classmates with a simple ward charged with Nether magic.
When cast on an enemy, Pugna drains health from the target enemy unit to heal himself and grant vision over the target. If Pugna has full HP, and the enemy target is a Hero, Life Drain will restore mana instead.

When cast on an ally, Pugna will drain his own health into his ally.
Health Drain per Second: 150/225/300 ( 200/300/400)
 Life Drain Heal Amplification: 20%
 Secondary Target Range Buffer: 200
 Secondary Links Creation Interval: 1.5
Removes cooldown and increases damage.
For every 1.5 seconds of channel, another secondary Life Drain is created targeting another random enemy hero.
Can be cast on spell immune allies
Cannot be cast on spell immune enemies.
modifier_pugna_life_drain: Dispellable with death only.
Pugna has truly become more powerful than even the grandmaster of Oblivion.
Notes:
The health talent increases maximum health capacity, and keeps the current health percentage.
Increased base attack damage from 19-27 to 21-28.
Increased turn rate from 0.5 to 0.6.
Reduced Nether Blast effect delay from 0.9 to 0.8.
Aghanim's Shard upgrade:
Reduced Life Drain secondary link creation interval from 1.75 to 1.5.
Talents:
Level 25 left talent: +1.5 Nether Ward damage per mana increased to +1.75.
Added Aghanim's Shard upgrade for Pugna:
When cast on an enemy, causes Life Drain to create new Life Drain links on other enemy heroes within cast range +200 for every 1.75 seconds spent channeling. The channeling only ends if there are no links up anymore, or the channel duration runs out.
Talents:
Level 10 left talent: +225 health reduced to +175.
Level 10 right talent: +20 movement speed reduced to +15.
Level 15 right talent: -1s Nether Blast cooldown reduced to -0.8s.
Level 20 left talent: +2s Decrepify duration reduced to +1.5s.
Level 20 right talent: +25% Life Drain heal reduced to +20%.
Level 25 left talent: +1.75 Nether Ward damage per mana reduced to +1.5.
Level 25 right talent: +200 Nether Blast damage reduced to +160.
Chosen at a tender age to be the next lama, Pugna wasted no time in demonstrating his abilities. He Decrepifies his classmates, briefly banishing them to another realm. His Nether Ward fires mana flares at the source of any nearby magic, discouraging even the most powerful casters. A Nether Blast soon rocked the lamasery, razing it to the ground. The temple no longer served any purpose. Pugna had transcended his predecessors—a fact few would doubt lest he decides to Life Drain them into oblivion.
