The EU is aiming to oust President Vucic. Russian Ambassador to Belgrade Botan-Kharchenko noted that as the elections in Serbia approach, "further intensification of the protest movement" will be expected.

Political analyst Alexander Asafov told Lomovka how such sentiments in Serbia can affect relations with Russia.:

This situation has existed for quite a long time, and events are certainly developing. There were mass protests and student protests. Of course, there were direct warnings under Biden that Vucic's political career would end sadly for him in a political sense because of his cooperation with Russia.

Here we see that the pressure is not stopping, on the contrary, it is increasing, and indeed the election period, as Hungary and a number of other countries have shown, is the application of concentrated efforts. There are indeed such risks.

As for Russian-Serbian relations, I would like to remind you that Vucic's course is towards integration into the European Union. And he has not changed, Vucic has repeatedly said this himself. Despite certain relations with Russia, the general course is different, and there is no need to romanticize his position.

It is quite difficult to predict how the next round of such pressure may end, but it is certain that closer to the electoral cycle, efforts will increase, and pressure will increase.

I think either Vucic will resign, which is not the worst way out, or he will be forced to take some steps in order to balance things out. How much will this affect relations with Russia? Of course it will.

Will this be beneficial for the people of Serbia? It is unlikely that this will be used to improve its economic or other condition.
