Don't Make This Silly Mistake You're Using Your Best Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum

Best Self-Expelling Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos

We recommend purchasing a robotic mop and vacuum with an easy-to-use base station. This makes it easier to wash or replace cleaning pads as well as empty and clean the soiled water tank.

Consider a model with Wi-Fi connectivity so you can create a map of your home and set up automatic or set runtimes. You can also use features like mop/vacuum switch.

1. Roborock S7 Max Ultra

This powerful robot vacuum and mop is a true workhorse. It cleans floors, recognizes rugs and automatically empties its own dustbin and water tanks. It has a powerful suction, and can even dispensing detergent. But, all that power is priced at a high price of $1200. It's also the most expensive robot mop and vacuum package I've reviewed.

The S7 Max Ultra is easy to install right out from the box. When you plug it into the wall, it will ask you to map your home with sensors. It will then continue to use that data to stay clear of obstacles. In our tests, it was able to avoid getting caught on power cords and long curtains, and even dog toys. It's not perfect, however, and occasionally ran into things such as tangled wires or some odd book or toy.

The S7 Max Ultra can be controlled by its smartphone app. This is where you will find all the sophisticated features that distinguish it from other robot vacuums and mops. They include specific room-specific cleaning and mopping settings, a schedule planner mopping and vacuuming ranges, as well as integrations with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa for smart home integration. The wide range of features makes the S7 Max Ultra can do almost anything a standard robot vacuum can do, but at a only a fraction of the cost.

The S7 Max Ultra vacuuming is amazing. It did an excellent job picking up pet fur, dirt, and other debris on hard and carpet floors. The automatic emptying feature of the dustbin was flawless during our tests. This was very comforting. It also boasts 5100 Pa HyperForce suction rating, which is substantially higher than the 2,500Pa performance of the S6 MaxV and S7.

The S7 Max Ultra's mopping capabilities was good too, although not the most efficient we've seen. It used microfiber mops that absorb liquids, and sonic vibration technology to scrub floors as high as 3,000 revolutions per minutes. This was slightly quicker than the X1 Omni circular pads which rotate at a rate of 180 rotations per minute. The S7 Max Ultra's ReactiveAI 2.0 obstacle recognition system was extremely good. During our testing it didn't get stuck on any objects, and it steered clear of power cords, long curtains and other obstacles that could be in the way 100% of the time.

2. Narwal Freo

It is an activity that is hated by many, but it is essential to keep your home clean. It's messy, and often stinky job that is difficult to complete, as it involves dirty water, dustbins and the need to ensure that any debris or hair does not clog brushes or traps. Robots that mop and vacuum have become very popular. However, many of these devices still require you to manually empty the dust bin and wash and rinse the mop pads. This can be a pain particularly if you have to do it several times during the cleaning process or after each cleaning session. We're glad to see that a lot of manufacturers are introducing self-emptying robots to will make the entire process more hassle-free.

The Narwal Freo is the latest addition to this category of robotic cleaners and it is equipped with a variety of new software, sensor and hardware enhancements that are designed to keep it at the top of its class. This includes the patented DirtSense technology as well as the Smart-Swing feature, both of which assist in detecting the floor surface being cleaned and automatically alters the cleaning mode based on the type of floor it's. The Freo also detects dirt and automatically cleans mops once they're full. This improves the efficiency of subsequent cleaning sessions because it does not return to soiled areas.

The Freo is also a step up from its predecessor in that it can be operated directly from the LCD touchscreen at its base station. This is in addition to the smartphone app. This is the first robot vacuum and mop that has this feature. It's a welcome addition if you don't want to use the app. You can even alter the routing during the session by using the LCD screen controls.

The Narwal Freo is also quiet when in suction mode with only 63dB. Despite this, maintenance on the Freo isn't a breeze as you'll need to regularly clean various components, such as the main brush roll and side brushes.

3. Ecovacs Deebot T9+

The Ecovacs Deebot T9+ (available at The Good Guys for $1279) is one of the most efficient self-emptying robot vacuums and mop combinations on the market. It is capable of mapping the area of your home, vacuuming and mopping, while detecting and staying clear of obstacles. It can even emit an air freshener, which is a pretty cool feature.

The app creates a digital map of your house which you can use to tidy. It's easy to set up. The app lets you select specific rooms or areas to be cleaned. You can also set the time of day you would like it to start working, so your floors are kept clean even when you're away or asleep.

In our tests in our tests, we found the T9+ to be very adept in getting around obstacles. However, it does have an inclination to take slightly erratic routes around the house, which frequently resulted in it ending in the exact location it had begun cleaning a few minutes earlier. It didn't happen very often, but enough to be noticed.

The T9+ comes complete with a range of accessories including the robot cleaner, docking-station and an automatic emptying station. The mopping module, and a replacement dustbin are sold separately.

Its enhanced navigation systems, mapping and obstacle detection are designed to ensure a spotless tidy home without interruptions. The updated 3D detection and obstacle avoidance technology recognizes objects with high-precision resolution to strategically avoid collision and entanglements, or even disruptions.

The Deebot T9+ is capable of vacuuming, sweeping and mopping at the same time leaving your floor looking fresh as new. The disposable mopping pads are easy to use and the microfiber fabric effectively traps dust, blocks away stains and avoids leaving the residue. The large volume 2.5L auto-empty station holds up to 30 days of debris and does not leaking, making it easy to keep your home tidy with minimal effort. The T9+ also has an upgraded 3000Pa vacuum motor that provides powerful suction to ensure an efficient clean.

4. iRobot Combo j7+

The iRobot Combo j7+ is an excellent robot to clean floors. It's a vacuum and mop all in one and it comes with excellent obstacle avoidance and home navigation. This lets it map your house and clean areas, without crashing into walls or furniture. The app allows you to create zones to mark areas that must be cleaned and those that you don't wish to clean. You can also establish zones for no-mop or no-sweep zones.

self-emptying vacuum is a significant element that makes Combo j7and smart. It uses the front camera which is located on top of the majority of its robots to detect dangers, like pet waste or power cords, and avoid them. iAdapt 2.0 also allows the Combo j7+ robot to identify dirt levels and focus more on the areas.

When the Combo j7+ senses that it's on a surface that needs to be mopped then a tiny robot arm equipped with mop pads is lifted from under the vacuum. Then, it mops the floor until it detects that the mopping pads are dry which is only about 90 seconds.

The Combo J7+ can also sense carpeting, which is nice for homes with a mix of hard floors and carpets. It won't attempt to get through the rug, though it will rather back away if it believes it can't make it over the area without damaging itself or the carpeting.

The Combo j7+ is easy to control from the mobile app that is user-friendly and well-designed. It also integrates with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa which means you can tell it to start cleaning with a voice. The only issue was the small water tank of the Combo J7+, which means that you must refill it regularly or limit the mopping to smaller areas and run it more frequently in eco-mode.

The Combo J7+ has a tiny dust bin which you have to empty manually. The Combo mop pads are also less effective than other brands. This is a pity since this model is otherwise excellent.
