Lamborghini Enters the World of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)
Following a series of social media posts hinting at it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally announced its NFT (non fungible token) Project. It's called Space Key and created in collaboration with an unknown artist and made up of an advanced carbon fiber composite material that was shipped to the International Space Station for research purposes.

The carbon fiber was transformed into a unique art work after it returned to Earth. The physical piece is embossed with an NFT serial number that ties to the digital artwork by using a QR code that is located on the back.

Called the Space Key, it consists of five items that unlock a unique digital artwork created by a yet-to-be-identified artist. Developed in collaboration with NFT PRO(tm), the "collector's item" is limited to just five units and will be auctioned off in the near future.
Each Space Key contains a block made of advanced carbon-fire composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station as part of a 2019 research program. After returning to Earth, it was engraved with an QR code that connects it to the digital element of the Space Key.
Each of the five Space Keys features a different moment that takes place at different times when the Lamborghini Ultimae takes off towards the stars. Over 600 million pixels make up each of the five images which were taken by photographer Fabian Oefner.
Oefner employed an inflatable camera that had an lens to take individual images, which were later added to the final picture. The result is a photo that is completely out of the world. It captures the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyperrealistic picture of a car rising from the Earth. The Space Keys are going to be auctioned off soon, but there's no precise date or location as of yet.
