Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment with new affixes. They can also improve the base stats of the item or provide additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Usually objects that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, whereas items with strong bases like eth titans aren't affected significantly in their stats after being upgraded.
Upgrade components
Upgrade components can be slotted into trinkets, armor, weapons and tools for gathering, offering an attribute bonus or additional impact when the equipment is used. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot, dropped by enemies, or obtained as a reward for missions or chests. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.
To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players will need to select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats and the required component or materials.
There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be put in any type of equipment and offer less bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Infusions are gems that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same benefits as jewels, but cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add a suffix to the end of the item's name. For instance the addition of a Glyph would make a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If a player upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces the glyphs by a different one the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component the item will be destroyed, except for the inscriptions that can be freely swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade process is different from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now classified into tracks and each item is able to be upgraded as many times before it is "leveled out." The cost of upgrading is increased with each level however, the materials needed do not increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a couple of important items to maximize their impact, instead of spreading upgrade costs across several pieces.
This allows the item to receive upgraded components and a greater chance of success. This bonus is known as the Artisan’s Energy and it resets to 0 if an upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it is able to be given affixes that enhance its capabilities. The number of affixes available will depend on the item's base type. For instance an uncommon or rare weapon with a normal base will only have two affixes for it and legendary armors will have up to eight affixes for it.
Each upgrade requires a certain number of Flightstones or Crests, depending on whether the item is at its current level and what slot it is located in. Typically, weapons require more Flightstones to upgrade than other kinds of equipment.
If an item is not able to reach its max level the NPC will offer the player the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse it with another set of upgrades. This process takes up to two hours and will cost the same amount of materials but will have a lower chance of success.
Engineers may utilize a level to measure the height of the building with an established point, such as a benchmark. This method is known as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to an extremely high level of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade components of an item. It is an essential aspect of the game that can boost an item's damage, strength or other characteristics. This can be accomplished through the item menu or by pressing the Reroll button of an upgraded item. Rerolling can be expensive and should only be done in very rare instances.
The game lets players recycle upgraded items, and use them to earn tokens for rerolls. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item or another item of the same type. Recyclable items have an indicator of level that indicates how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item determines the level of filling.
In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd get the most crucial stats to your build more often than other items. These included things like the armor's total armor, thorns, and duration reduction statistics that were controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each statistic. Casesgg can be good or bad, based on what you're looking to get from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can have a unique fixed-value bonus that boosts its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added in addition to the standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the better chances of obtaining the bonus of your choice.
The game also includes several sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are installed on an item. This is an excellent way to add a lot of power to a character without spending a lot of money.

Sets
Sets are collections that can be organized differently. They can be of different sizes, have none of the elements, or have a single element. They can be used to organize data or organize information. They can also be useful in analyzing patterns. Sets can be classified in various ways such as size and shape.

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them into the same level as their tiers. For instance, the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items could improve their defense, and make them more competitive when it comes to damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item and the items required to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed, along with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
Generally speaking generally speaking, jewelry and weapons offer more value for trade when they are fully upgraded than armor.
