Adding the donation feature in the iMe app

iMe app has been keen on adding features and functionalities that add value to the lives of its users. How the “LIME Donations” feature works in iMe

Now, we have added another exciting feature to the iMe repertoire – ease of donation. This donation option in LIME tokens brings content creators and readers closer, uniting everyone under the umbrella of decentralized finance!

Users can support their favorite channels and groups, and resource owners, in turn, have the opportunity to monetize in cryptocurrency.

All the functionality of donations is very natively implemented in the application and does not require special skills to set up and use.

Let’s clarify the steps for the owner of the group or channel:

If the owner of a channel or a group is looking to raise funds for a project, or is relying on donations from their users, they can ask for donations easily within the iMe ecosystem. All they need to do is add a “Donate” button to their channel/group profile and link their iMe wallet address to it. 

1. At first, the owner needs to go to the channel/group profile and press “edit” button. 

2. Then we choose Transactions (on iOS) or Donations (on Android) item in the owner’s menu.

3. The owner can link his/her iMe wallet address or a third-party wallet address if he/she does not have an activated iMe wallet. For example, they can insert their Metamask address as the address to receive donations. LIME donations will come to this address from the iMe users who have decided to donate to the channel/group.

4. Now you have successfully linked your address to your channel or group! All your subscribers can now send you donations and support your community! 

The entire process has been made extremely simple and user-friendly. However, it is important to note that donations can be sent only in LIME tokens of the BEP20 standard. 

Now let us describe the whole process for iMe users how to make a donation:

1.A user joins a group or channel he/she likes. They like what’s going on in the group, enjoy being part of it, get value from it, and also get entertained. The group relies on community donations to run and the user wishes to contribute.

Please note! Any user who wishes to make a donation should have LIME BEP20 in their account. If there’s no LIME in the account, the user can replenish their balance to be able to donate.

2. The user goes to the group/channel profile (iOS) and taps on the three-dots menu (Android).

3. User finds a “Donate” button (Android) or “Make transaction” button (iOS). By simply clicking on the button, the user is given the option to easily make a donation using their LIME tokens.

4. If the user already has an activated iMe crypto wallet with LIME tokens in their account, they can easily make a donation. If not, they will be offered to activate a wallet in iMe to be able to donate.

5. The user selects the amount of LIME BEP20 he/she wishes to donate. Then they tap on the “Send” button and the money is sent. After sending the transaction the user gets a confirmation that his donation was sent successfully and the admin gets a message that he has received the new donation.
